LanguedocFox Posted 9 October 2012 Posted 9 October 2012 I know this is tempting fate, but now we've won five matches on the bounce, I was wondering about the last time we won six in a row. I've been watching City since the mid-50s, and I can't recall us doing it, which may say more about my memory than City's record. Anyone else know?

LanguedocFox Posted 9 October 2012 Author Posted 9 October 2012 Thanks for that. I should have remembered the sequence in 93, because I kept expecting it to make a dramatic difference to our position, but it didn't really because the other teams in the top ten were also doing well. And thanks for the Statto.com link. Another way for me to while away my dotage.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 9 October 2012 Posted 9 October 2012 I remember the run in 1993. Right at the end of the season i believe as well. Think we kept scoring 3 each game as well for some of the run. Bit hazy tho
stix Posted 9 October 2012 Posted 9 October 2012 Not impressed with our heaviest defeat coming against florist 23 games without defeat is impressive though. and 31 consecutive games without not scoring is also pretty decent

Iwan is a Welshman Posted 9 October 2012 Posted 9 October 2012 That 8-1 win away at Cov in '64 must've been a cracking away day.
LanguedocFox Posted 10 October 2012 Author Posted 10 October 2012 Why would you do that? What, support City since the mid-50s? F*** knows. It's like genital herpes, I suppose: once you've got it, you can't get rid of it, no matter how hard you try.

Bit hazy tho I remember that run in 1993 as Walshy became a magical makeshift striker (probably due to injuries up front) and just couldn't stop scoring in every single game leading up to our play offs semi success (at the City Ground of course and Fratton Park) over Pompey and then that dramatic defeat v Swindon at Wem-ber-ley!

I was thinking as recently as two seasons ago as being the last time but upon looking up the stats of January-February 2011, I now see we only managed five - to equal times present. We would've won six on the bounce were it not for poxy Preston having the temerity to claim a draw against us at their place! 1993 it is!

Well I was going to say why would you ask when the last time we won six games in a row, but upon reflection I probably should have been asking why would you support city for that long.
rico Posted 10 October 2012 Posted 10 October 2012 It's going to be weird when we next draw or lose i was thinking more of a reality check !
Jace Posted 11 October 2012 Posted 11 October 2012 i was thinking more of a reality check ! No matter what the score is away to Birmingham it can't be worse than how we played last season
indierich06 Posted 11 October 2012 Posted 11 October 2012 It's going to be weird when we next draw or lose We'll probably be back to the 'Pearson Out' and 'all of our players are shit' nonsense again.
