Langston Posted 19 October 2012 Posted 19 October 2012 Honestly can't look past Iniesta for that third spot, such a supreme talent that makes so many aspects of his game look flawless. I'd perhaps have Casillas (not sure if he's been mentioned) pushing him, he seems to have been at the top of his game for an age now, incredible consistency. I'd say Yaya Toure is the Premier's best player currently. For me, the best player in the Premier League at the minute is Juan Mata - hands down. The wealth of talent Spain have at their disposal is almost embarrassing.

Think I'd have to agree he's the prems best
Adster Posted 19 October 2012 Posted 19 October 2012 Last Season I think David Silva was a class above most players in the Prem. This year however I'd probably go for Hazard or Cazorla currently. Been outstanding this season.
Ric Flair Posted 19 October 2012 Posted 19 October 2012 It's between Iniesta and Yaya Toure for me. Hazard at Chelsea has the potential to be phenomenal but it's early days yet.
Guest MattP Posted 19 October 2012 Posted 19 October 2012 Shows how ridiculously strong Barca were that Yaya Toure sometimes didn't get on their bench
Guest ttfn Posted 19 October 2012 Posted 19 October 2012 Shows how ridiculously strong Barca were that Yaya Toure sometimes didn't get on their bench I think Yaya's come on another level since arriving at City. Some of his runs at the Bernabeu were unreal; he just surged past the Madrid players as if they weren't there. He's the best player in the Premier League for me, with Rooney, van Persie, Hazard, Mata, Silva, Aguero, Suarez and Cazorla just behind. Balotelli is also on the cusp of becoming one hell of a player.
Danizen Posted 19 October 2012 Posted 19 October 2012 He's immense. The Manchester derby in April, Fergie recognised that he needed someone to shadow him. That someone was fooking Park! No wonder they lost the title. Iniesta is so skillful, his technique is flawless, to partner Xavi and play the passing, high-press game of Barcelona to their ridiculously high standard requires phenomenal anticipation, passing, vision and movement. That's why he's number three for me. As Langston said, you can also make a good case for Casillas
Mack Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 I don't think anyone stands out as the distinct third best player in the World. On a side note, until Messi has a proper World cup where he has a genuine influence on Argentina's fortunes he cant be put in the same bracket as Maradona and Pele in my opinion. The same goes for Ronaldo.
