The ignore feature.

I'm fed up of seeing a thread spammed full of messages saying flowwolf has posted, but I have him on ignore, would I like to read it anyway? No I wouldn't, that's why I ignored him.

Can we either disable that message so ignoring someone means just that or, better yet, just ban the rabid mouthbreather completely?

Seven consecutive posts down one page is just mindless drivel regardless of whether or not you agree with his generic, contrary, wind up "opinions."

+1 I'll openly support a 'ban' a 'disabling' or even a troll cull.

Edit: I'd also like to not see the posts of those on block when replied to by other posters.

lol heaven knows what this forum looks like to Daggers. Every thread: "... Who you have on ignore, would you like to view it anyway?"

I remember when forum rules stated that posters who engaged in racist and homophobic posts would be banned.

Seems it's fine to do that now.

Yes the forum would be much better if it were restricted to conforming opinions only

Yes apologies, allowing racism and homophobia are ensuring a well rounded and balanced forum which develops positive discussion and an inclusive on-line community.

If I gave a shit about people's opinions I'd have ignored you, Matt, Jon the Hat and Webbo years ago. I like this forum's mixed political demographic.

I also find you and your shtick quite amusing occasionally.

Flow doesn't annoy me because of his opinions he annoys me because he's annoying.

Oh yes - I'm fed up of seeing flowwolf's bullshit because other people have quoted him. If that quote could be hidden and the post quoting it not then that'd be great, although it seems like that'd be a fair bit of work.

Not a fan of flowtwat

A few months ago the guy was following about 8/10 of my posts in all parts of the forum trolling and generally being a willy puller, I did respond but didnt antagonise any of it . . . . It wasn't pleasant tho, ended up blocking him and the rest is testament

Banning might make it worse, hes gotta change or we change him

Disagree, I think banning him is a splendid idea.

I'd just like to add, I don't actually care whether he's banned or not truth be told.

But I was serious about being able to see snippets every time someone you've ignored posts. Surely there's an option to turn that off?

It's quite easy to ignore someone without actually putting them on ignore.

Demonstrated adequately by your lack of interest as a general chat moderator in addressing the homophobic and racist content/posters.

I wouldn't put anyone on ignore there's no need. If you don't like what someone says you can either not read it or argue with them. If you think that someone is deliberately trying to wind you up the best thing you can do is not respond, that'll annoy them more than anything.

a) It's not my job to censor peoples opinions.

b) There are other moderators.

Mark may well be able to change the settings to hide content in order that when others reply to posters which have been blocked that content is hidden as well as the initial post?

Again, it's not specifically what flowwolf's saying that bothers me, essentially, it's the incessant spamming of every topic as in the above screenshot.

I'm not exactly claiming that it's the greatest evil since Pol Pot and I'm not crying because it's ruining my Foxes Talk experience.

I'm just pointing out it is annoying and is a feature Mark could look towards tweaking as I know he's often looking at ways to play around with FT in his boredom. ;)

In reference to 'a)' - surely it is your job to censor the opinions of others if you consider they may cause offence to other users of our on-line community?

A lot of the time I find you offensive but I don't delete your posts. It's call freedom of speech.

This forum is no different to what it was since I first became a member. I can't imagine why you think I'm to blame.

How does anyone manage to get through the day with all the bombardment of unnecessary information and fluff if they can’t manage to filter out a few posts on this forum with a simple scroll wheel?

If you pick up a newspaper do you read it cover to cover? Do you watch every TV program? Do listen in to every conversation on the train?

Anyone would think you’re being held in front of the screen like Alex DeLarge .

Goes off to google Alex DeLarge with apprehension for the search history ramifications...................
