Alf Bentley Posted 26 October 2013 Posted 26 October 2013 Only just found out that Phil Chevron of The Pogues died about a fortnight ago, aged 56 (throat cancer). Sad news indeed. Apart from being a member of The Pogues (from the 2nd album, I think), he wrote 1 or 2 songs (inc. "Thousands are sailing") - and before that was the producer of "Green Fields of France" by Men they couldn't hang.
