kingfox Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 I was being sarcastic in my posts. Some of you are just too thick to realise.

HoustonFox Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 If he does anything else this season I'll be very surprised. Is it United's first team squad on the tour or a mixture? Doesn't sound like the first XI. Who was playing for the Aussie team? Anyone decent?
Guest ttfn Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Doesn't matter really. I mean, Cleverly was excellent for us but I don't think United fans rate him that much. Lingard was a pointless loanee really, not sure what he was used for and I don't think Pearson knew at the time either. He's at Manchester United for a reason though, and fair play to him for scoring although he is playing with better players than he was here. Cleverly was fine. He wasn't "excellent" for us at all. He was basically a more mobile Oakley. No doubt he's improved immensely since but it still baffles me as to what Fergie saw and Hodgson sees in him. Had he come through a different academy I can't imagine United banging down the door trying to sign him.Lingard was dreadful for us. His performance in the home game against Forest was embarrassing. He was on for half an hour and barely touched the ball.
ACF Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Watched the game last night, Lingard was easily man of the match, played really well.
scousefox4 Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Watched Lingard play in a u21 development game for us (sheff utd) if I remember right & he was absolutely shocking

Not quite as great as Mark Davies was but he was one of our standout players, and clearly more talented than Oakley ever was (though he was good that season). It was very clear that our performances and results started to dip when he left.

Cleverley was a perfectly reasonable player in our team, but he was hardly critical for us. Not going to argue that he is clearly more talented that Oakley ever was, that's not up for discussion. But the role he was able to play, as a teenager, was to do the job Oakley was doing but with a bit more energy.
OzFox Posted 21 July 2013 Posted 21 July 2013 FOXESTALK SHOCKER!!! Ex-loanee scores two against a side the equivalent of a League One team and suddenly everybody says that they actually thought that he was alright and should have been used more. Probably not even that good. The A league side have only played together for a week
Dickov22 Posted 21 July 2013 Posted 21 July 2013 I loved Cleverly when he was here. He's not Man U or international standard for me. But if he was a regular here he'd be the best midfielder in the division.
GorlestonFox Posted 21 July 2013 Posted 21 July 2013 Just making sure I've had people thinking my posts are truthful before, when I'm just being sarcastic. If you have to explain that you are being sarcastic. You have failed at being sarcastic.
