Jesse Lingard

Meh. Not too fussed, really. He wasn't given much of a chance to show what he could do, and when given slight chances he showed he couldn't really do anything at all for us.

had some nice moves and a good pass on him.

And he showed this when?

He wasn't bad for us just don't see how he could be chosen ahead of Schlupp, Dyer or Marshall as an option on the wing. Didn't show us anything.

He was good on the ball but not suited to the championship.

Surely if you're good on the ball you're suited to any league.

The lad just isn't very good at the minute. Not every united youngster makes it.

He is young & inexperienced. He was never going to come on for the last 10 mins & change a game on his own. If he had been given a start we might have seen the potential Man Utd see in him.

Carnt see him making the grade at all in England myself, far to lightweight! Would benefit playing In Spain or somewhere with that style of passing play rather than physicallity!

Ugh. Fair enough if he's shite, but writing him off because he's lightweight is the reason England can't produce David Silva's and sh1t.

I'm surprised by many of the comments here, some of them quite ignorant too. I've got to say as someone that follows the united reserve team, Lingard is someone who I feel has the potential to be a future united player. He is quite lightweight granted, but he didn't look out of place in the summer tour and actually looked quite promising.

From what I just read online, he's played around 80 minutes over the space of 5 matches. What are you expecting of a 19 year old who's never played competitive football until this season? If you're going to give him 15-20 minutes football a match then he's hardly going to set your team alight is he? Maybe he's not ready yet, but you shouldn't be so hasty and quick to judge him without allowing him a fair opportunity to prove himself.

Btw Fergie earmarked him earlier on in the season as a potential Manchester United player of the future and named him as one of the youngsters who should be in a "united side" in the next 5 years.

He may not be ready physically now and that's fine, hopefully he'll take this experience and really try to bulk himself up and I hope next season so some of you can eat your words.
