Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 1 March 2013 Posted 1 March 2013 Anybody have this? It looks fairly decent & I've been offered it at £50 which sounds very reasonable. I've watched the videos of the jail broken ones and it looks amazing, has anybody jail broken it? If so does anyone have any links & was it easy? Cheers
Babylon Posted 1 March 2013 Posted 1 March 2013 I have one, not jail broken though. If you don't mind paying rip off prices for films etc through apple it's fine. I use it mostly for Netflix and YouTube, I've hardly been pushing its capabilities though.
whitlock Posted 1 March 2013 Posted 1 March 2013 Is Apple TV just used to sync your iPad/phone onto the TV?

Jon the Hat Posted 1 March 2013 Posted 1 March 2013 Yes worth that definately just for the mirroring of your phone or ipad onto your TV, also playing music through surround system.

Babylon Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 On the topic of Apple TV... If you have netflix on there you can switch to any other Netflix location by changing your DNS settings. I'm currently watching stuff from Netflix US and the content is quite different to the UK version. ALSO... if you do buy/rent movies etc from apple, then it might be worth considering opening an apple us itunes account so that you can buy stuff from there rather than waiting for it to be released in the UK. I have recently rented the hobbit, lLife of Pi and Wreck it Ralph through US itunes on apple tv. It's easy enough to do and I can go through the steps (if you are too lazy to google it). Rather than paying by credit card (they will know where you are located from that) you buy things via gift cards. There are sites online that let you buy US gift cards and they give you a code to enter in itunes to add your credit. They do charge a small premium for it, but you are still probably paying the same or less than you would buying the same thing from the UK store.
21st Century Fox Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 A U.S. iTunes account is a must (even if you don't have Apple TV) they usually give away a lot of free pilots and episodes to shows that won't be released over here for months.
