dog_4 Posted 6 March 2013 Posted 6 March 2013 What do they all have in common? No plan B! and successful managerial regards! Nigel has been a fantastic manager for us! No money to spend under Mandaric! one promotion, one play off challenge. On his return he's had a massive rebuilding job, kept us in the play off's all season and needs one more pre season adding to the squad! One more winger, one more central midfielder and one more Striker will see us have a starting x1 and the bench to go with it. We can then go and develop a squad full of 21 - 22 year olds which will take us into the premiership. So the simple conclusion to a successful side is Time,Development and quality in depth, rather then just a young starting 11 with not enough to back it up! So lets all cut the crap about Nigel having no Plan B and a change of manager! When that really isn't the issue.
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 March 2013 Posted 6 March 2013 Guardiola didn't have a plan B either, managed to pocket a CL trophy or two though. If we don't go up this year we can't get too frustrated. I'm so confident it will happen next season if it doesn't happen in this one. 12/13 has been the start of a project that might be going faster than expected, however, we can't start crying if the great Nige doesn't quite manage it right now.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 6 March 2013 Posted 6 March 2013 Plan C is for people who have totally fooked up
wattolcfc Posted 6 March 2013 Posted 6 March 2013 I thought Plan B was a rapper/movie star... how is having him here going to help???

hackneyfox Posted 6 March 2013 Posted 6 March 2013 Seems a bit arrogant to assume that should we fail to get promoted this season that we'll do it next, the 3 relegated PL sides will almost certainly put up a better fight than has happened this season.
Johnny Cash Posted 6 March 2013 Posted 6 March 2013 But what is his plan B? Has anyone seen it. I'm talking in the middle of a game and things not going well, what does you mesiah change?
dog_4 Posted 6 March 2013 Author Posted 6 March 2013 I can't think of a manager with a plan b? It doesn't exist! Subs are the plan B! That's it!

I'm not assuming it, I just believe that it will happen given the position the club is in. We've made great strides this year by building a very youthful team that I imagine will be better next season. Seeing as we aren't that far off the automatic spots this season (and we could still make it by the way) I don't think it's unfair of me to think we have an excellent chance of getting promoted next time round. I don't fear the relegated sides much, QPR could be in a mess, I can't imagine Wigan will be much either - they've had their day and are a small club, they'll fade away into League One eventually.
AyewJoking Posted 7 March 2013 Posted 7 March 2013 People who say cheer up we're in the play-offs must forget at one point we were looking strong for automatic promotion. Our current position is thanks to the points total we built up earlier in the season when we were looking genuine contenders. We are on a downwards spiral. Results and performances dont lie. We havent become a mediocre team overnight rather steadily declined over a period of games which has seen us lose to teams lower in the table and are unrecognisable from the team that was flying so high. So yes, pat on the back for Pearson we are in the play-offs still!
flowwolf Posted 7 March 2013 Posted 7 March 2013 Why not get Baldrick in as assistant manager at least he has a cunning plan.
eaglandlcfc Posted 7 March 2013 Posted 7 March 2013 Plan B is putting Dyer at left back. Hahahahahaha

Best not to read too much into the short term. You can just as easily go 6 games unbeaten in March.

I'm not sure you can compare Barcelona not having a plan b with Leicester city!!! Also, I don't get the patience we have. Why should we wait until next season? As previously mentioned, 3 relegated teams will be hard enough, especially if Villa of Wigan come down. It frustrates me how easily Zola can motivate a bunch of loanees to second in the league. If we had 12 loan players everyone would make excuses for them not gelling etc. I'm not for a minute on a Pearson rant here. It's more about what we accept. Why are crystal palace in a stronger position than us when they were almost relegated last year and have no cash? Why are forest snapping at our heels despite the fact that we were all laughing ourselves silly at them when they sacked their manager? Too accepting.

Lets not forget that we were in a bit of a mess last season so you could argue that we've managed to turn the ship around in a similar way to Palace and Watford. It might have taken longer to sort ourselves out than it has done. Watford have been gifted their position in the league at the moment, they're an exceptional case and it's difficult to compete with such unethical action by a club. Palace have been fortunate to have two great academy products and perhaps the best striker in the league. These clubs have had bit of luck and I wouldn't say good management in this season has played a big part in their achievements. I know it's frustrating to ask for another season of patience but I've never been more certain that we're on the right track now.
