Guest Col city fan Posted 17 March 2013 Posted 17 March 2013 Spot on. It seems to me that Drinkwater and King can't play together. Look at our recent winning streak, King only came on as a sub toward the end of the matches. (with 1 exception) Since he has started a game our results have been worse. I say ban him from the ground on matchdays! What did I tell you about King!!!! I do wish people would listen!
J.Lisemore Posted 17 March 2013 Posted 17 March 2013 Really hope we go for someone like Trotter in the summer. This, we really do lack a presence in the middle, its all good having tippy tappy footballers but I feel we someone who is going to put his neck on the line, after all...even Barcelona have one in Busquets.
Collymore Posted 17 March 2013 Posted 17 March 2013 Williams and Hughes was the worst. I might be getting the era wrong but im sure low and Sylla were on the wings.
BigSmudge Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Im sure its been mentioned before, but I'd just like to stress how ineffective our midfield is vs the more physical teams. I am admirable of Drinkwater and King, but they seem to lack the 'roughness' lets say, i think its about time our midfield stuck a foot in in games we really should be winning, or any game for that matter. In addition;what about the possibility of a big central midfielder being brought into the KP this summer?, discuss.
fleckneymike Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 We could try not giving it away first. That way we wouldn't need to win it back.
Harry - LCFC Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 I mentioned on another thread that we'd have much less difficulty with physical teams if we improved our passing. We dither on the ball too long, if we moved it quicker these teams that charge around after us would be ripped apart as we did to several teams earlier this season. I hesitate to compare us to Barcelona but doing something sort of similar to them would help. I honestly don't think a tough guy is needed, what I'd like to see is the ball being moved around quicker and us giving the man on the ball more options.
BigSmudge Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 This has been done to death! Agreed. But I'm interested to hear who people would bring in, or ship out for that matter

If we were to knock the ball around quicker these teams that do charge around will get tired. Good point
BigSmudge Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 You know it,we know it....yet the person that matters does not! indeed, id be interested who Mr Pearson would bring in if he were to bolster his midfield..
Walshy5 Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Agreed. But I'm interested to hear who people would bring in, or ship out for that matter Ship out wellens gallagher and danns. Try and bring in Jay Spearing and Mark Davies
BigSmudge Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Ship out wellens gallagher and danns. Try and bring in Jay Spearing and Mark Davies I agree with all but one. Gallagher for me brings a dimension to the game not many players are capable of doing,he is a threat from distance (LCFC v Palace springs to mind),and he is a good passer of the ball. Although Wellens+Danns can f**k off quite frankly, I also like the names you have mentioned, although availability is a thought.
