All that NuLabour propaganda has rotted your brain methinks.

You were so much better when you posted funny stories and YouTube videos.

What I don't get is why people so staggeringly successful as some on here claim spend half their lives spouting drivel on Foxestalk?

Surely they would be too busy managing their business, or trading, or some other such wealth generating activity to be concerned about what us mere mortal have to say?

Why do I get more the impression of Walter Mitty than Donald Trump?

Because we get little people like you to do it . Speaking of which how come you are on here so much spouting your juvinle drivel , is it half term ?

New Labour supporter.....me???

She destroyed the whole ethos of working class solidarity, which had been a force for the good in this country. And she turned the whole place into nexus for get rich-quick spivs who set the scene for the bankruptcy of this country. The Labour Party under Blair learned her lessons only too well.

And it's no surprise that Blair has acknowledged this today. So that's part of her legacy - Tony Blair - just for that she should fry in Hell.

The first time, yes. Detested him less than the Tories. I was secretary of a local branch at the time. Soon after I left the party cos the man is/was an utter fraud,

Nice dodge.

Excellent politicising from a throwaway comment on Morrissey's entirely predictable reaction.

I actually agree with your points on Thatcher, but your unyielding urge to fling in sputum laced vitriol against the Tories on EVERY SINGLE SUBJECT is incredibly wearing these days.

Come into the LCFC forum, your blaming of Lawson's fiscal irresponsibility for us not being awarded a penalty will make a refreshing change from the Wellens/Drinkwater/Pearson scapegoating.

Either that or try to make the forum laugh rather than collectively roll its eyes as you start bashing the millionaire Oxbridge graduates in the Cabinet for being less caring than the millionaire Oxbridge graduates in the Shadow Cabinet.

btw - I've met both Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair.

And I'm invited to Chris Wood's party in May. (Unless we are in the playoffs, then it's off)

I'm a big fish, me !!

I've met quite a list of politicians, and two royals too.

Working class solidarity a force for good in this country ? :D you were obviously not alive in the seventies then when the working class miners showed no solidarity with the rest of society. They listened to idiots like Arthur sargill who told them that they were all mighty and powerful and could by strike action demand what ever they wanted or they would shut the country down. Which is exactly what they did. Three day week anyone ? electricity blackouts ( including the weak and vunerable ) ring any bells ?

Please spare me the bullshit I was there and believe me when Thatcher took control most working class people were glad she took on the miners , in fact the majority of the public gave no support what so ever to the miners and refused to come out on strike in sympathy with them The public had had enough of their holding the country to ransome and realise that they needed breaking.

Never forget Thatcher and the tory government could not have beaten the miners without the public support. In short the public had had it up to the back teeth with unions and their ridiclous demands and were damn glad to have had a government with big enough balls to sort them out. That is the real history not the bent truth spouted by the left.

Who did you vote for in the next 2 elections?

Who did you vote for in the next 2 elections?

Voted for Brown Webbo but he never stood a chance, and probably would have followed the Blair line.

Didn't vote Webbo.

So you're a floating voter? Can I persuade you to consider the Tories in next month's council election?

Nice to see the vast, vast majority of people at her funeral procession route today were respectful.

The amount of people there to celebrate her rather than protest shows just how many people loved her. Reading FT you'd think it was 90-10 in favour of hating her.

But as has been said repeatedly in this thread, she shifted the balance of power too far the other way. The unions were too powerful, but now employers are too powerful. And breaking the unions came at the cost of the livelihoods of far too many people. There were entire communities based on industries that were destroyed by her actions, and nothing to replace them. These were peoples lives that were directly involved - any discussion of inefficiency, lack of money shouldn't have come into it. There should never be a monetary value put on a human life, and in doing what she did that's exactly what she did. I don't disagree the industries needed modernising and the unions too powerful, but people's work was taken from them with nothing to replace it, and for what?

And now (not really Thatchers fault this) the political power in this country is in the hands of the few to the detriment of the many.

Best thing about the day.

The myth of being most hated woman in Britain completely smashed. Whole world sees a respectful crowd paying it's respects.

Or you could say the Left was more respectful and considerate on this day than you gave them credit for...

But we live in this country by two things , Democracy and capitalism. She and the Tory party of those times worked within those limits. As she and her party were returned for three terms of office the electorate must have been happy with what she was doing or she would have been out at the first chance?

She helped replace it with the service industry which has been our cash cow for decades now and is the only reason we're still clinging onto first world status. We're not exactly blessed with abundant natural resources in this country. It's a small island with a relatively large population. The mines were winding down anyway. Would you have preferred that the government subsidised keeping them open, at a loss, just to keep some people in work? Where would the money to subsidise the dying industries have come from?
