Best away fans at KP, Best home fans on our travels

Was in the Homesdale Road end yesterday, due to going with a Palace supporting mate from University, and there really wasn't much noise at all. Bar the 2minutes after each goal and start of the match it was completely flat. Personally i'd say Hull weren't too bad, but that's obviously down to the Pearson factor. As has been said, Leeds and Wednesday were loud down the KP; always are to be fair.

My young mate went in the Palace end yesterday because he was very very drunk.

Yes they let a very drunk lad with an away ticket in the home end, great observation by the turnstile operator. What was funny was he didn't realise till he walked down to the seats and saw palace shirts all around him and then said to a steward "I'm not in the away end am I?"

Wednesday and Leeds were the best fans to come to the KP, I really enjoyed the Wednesday game even though we lost 1-0...

Exactly. Why do we have a love affair with them?

A love affair? It's the truth, Leeds' support is the best in the division by a distance and one of the best in England.

I think support throughout the country has gone massively downhill even in the last 5 years. I cannot remember the last genuinely good atmosphere made by home fans at an away game.

Wednesday at ours by a mile and Palace on Saturday were quite good

a mate of mine at work who is a Watford fan reckons they are bringing 3000 to the KP on Friday.. it might be my age but I always think of Watford as a buch of 11 year olds with high pitched voices as back in the day they used to be pathetic.

They've only sold 500 so far.....

To be fair, I was looking on their forum. Most of them that wanted to come have been put off by tv, time and the last train to London time.

Also, the less they bring the better? At least then they can't get behind the team? Or does a better away support create a better home atmosphere? (if you get me).

I've found it does, and to be honest Watford really aren't that vocal a bunch at all.

I can understand more given the times but Bolton still managed 1,500 and if anything that's probably harder to get back to midweek than Watford is.

When we played Watford at the end of the season under Sven they brought about a thousand and I was impressed with their noise and range of songs and stuff. Seemed a fairly sound bunch from a few chats in pubs pre game too.

We wouldn't take many more than a thousand on a Friday on tv.
