Simmo86 Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Best at our place: Sheff Wednesday or Birmingham close call Best on our travels: In terms of singing I didn't think Charlton were too bad
dayday Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Its a growing trend with home fans being quiet,i think most supporters cannot be bothered because of the rubbish songs sang these days, even the i love you(song) gets an half hearted approach these days. As for best away fans..Birmingham they sing different songs which is quite refreshing, they also brought decent numbers considering it was a Friday night game on sky..
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Best visiting support is Wednesday for me, with Palace a close second. I don't understand the praise for Leeds and Birmingham - neither sold out. In fact, "you used to sell out, you don't anymore" to the Leeds fans is one of my favourite chants of the year. Been to Burton, Blackburn, Wolves, Middlesbrough, Huddersfield, Birmingham, Watford, Wednesday, Bristol City, Palace and Palace. The latter was probably the pick, but I don't think Selhurst Park made any more noise than the King Power would have done on the same occasion. There's no truly incredible home supports in the division.
gazlcfc27 Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 I hate to say it but Leeds were the best for me,really loud and went on for ages.Very disappointed with the Palace fans yesterday, just one section and that stupid drum, was it real, it sounded like it was a recording.
WeAreGoingUp Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 LEEDS UNITED WERE VERY GOOD FOR A TUESDAY NIGHT
LCFC FOX Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Best away fans to come to the KP were Palace without a doubt and the worst has to be Barnsley. Away from home is difficult for me, the games I've been to are Torquay, Charlton. Blackburn, Birmingham, Peterborough and Derby. Not too sure who were the best and who was the worst from that lot
ScouseFox Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Best visiting support is Wednesday for me, with Palace a close second. I don't understand the praise for Leeds and Birmingham - neither sold out. In fact, "you used to sell out, you don't anymore" to the Leeds fans is one of my favourite chants of the year. Palace didn't sell out either. On their specific "big day out" day to sell out. On a Saturday at 3pm. When they were right at top of the league.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Leeds were louder than Sheffield Wednesday with fewer fans. Also, I only really heard Palace yesterday after they scored their 2nd. Otherwise I just heard the drum for most of the game. Didn't see Palace at our place so I can't comment. Out of all the away games I've been to this year, the home fans have been crap tbh.
Finnegan Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Palace were nothing special. I hate Leeds but they're the best travelling support in this league. I thought Palace were largely dull just with a few bouts of "we love you" to out do us.
Libertine Dream Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 [/size] Palace didn't sell out either. On their specific "big day out" day to sell out. On a Saturday at 3pm. When they were right at top of the league. This is a fair point, they brought less than we took to them at a time when they were flying on their designated big day out. They were loud that day but its very easy to be loud when you play as well as they did that day. Not many fans have impressed me this year, Wednesday were probably best, Leeds weren't as good as normal but better than most
1964FOX Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Wednesday were best for me at KP. I've been every away game and nobody was rememberable but that could be because we can be good away so probably can't hear the hone crowd over our own noise. To be totally fair been to some aways were both us and them were shocking.
Burmesefox Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Were Palace really the best we've had at our ground this season? To be quite honest I didn't think they were anything special, the travelling support at our ground is generally poor I know, but if they were the best it's been a particularly bad year. In fact thinking back, I've not been to many games this season but of the few I have, I actually thought Hull were better than Palace. mate - Palace had it as their fans fixture and turned out numbers and voice - they were terrific and outsung us all game. Deffoe the best this season followed by Wednesday. Leeds brought numbers but not as loud as i thought they usually are.
Simmo86 Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Thought Palace were average. Not a patch on Leeds, Wednesday or Brum
Fox92 Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Leeds still have the best away support in the division.
Kitchandro Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 mate - Palace had it as their fans fixture and turned out numbers and voice - they were terrific and outsung us all game. Deffoe the best this season followed by Wednesday. Leeds brought numbers but not as loud as i thought they usually are. They outsung us all game because we were an absolute disgrace. Outsinging us doesn't prove they were great. Half of them were sitting down and they didn't look like they'd brought that many. They made some good noise now and again but there were long periods of silence and I never felt blown away like I have done at times when Leeds have been in the away end. Sorry but I find it really hard to believe they were the best all season, I have been embarrassed by how loud the away fans have been on occassions but that day I was just embarrassed by how quiet we were. Personally, I think it's just that Palace's reputation is preceding them. People were hyping them up before the game and they were always going to get a good review.
ScouseFox Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 I thought Palace were largely dull just with a few bouts of "we love you" to out do us. I think a few balloons and more gay European chants than average has this forum creaming themselves, despite the reality that they were actually not that good at all.
bluesbrothers Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Home - Best: Sheffield Wednesday - noisy and good for banter. Worst: Birmingham City - completely outsang a good 1,000 fans and scummers causing trouble after FT. Away - Best: Crystal Palace - Even in classic Ollie freefall, they make some noise. Worst: Barnsley - Played us off the park, but I've heard noisier fridge motors.
Weller in Tights Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Sheffield weds, numbers, loud singing, good mix of a songbook (unlike us with our monotonous drum). Leeds, hate them but they are loud and aggressively passionate. Birmingham, considering the small number they brought, they made good noise. The thing that has really come across to me these last two seasons is the fact we have one of the most limited and boring songbooks in the league. I am going to say it (yet again) get rid of the drum. Start listening to some of us old bastards when we sing the old songs, learn the words then join in. Listen to Leeds and Brum fans signing their signature tunes. All their fans (at away games) join in. When we try WYS so many people don't bother joining in. It is sung FAR TOO FAST, and the once impressive hand movements at the end are now a blur. Come on City, win on Friday beat the Florists and Cardiff will do us a favour. I really miss Wembley, god those days when it was our 2nd home, Those were the days my fiend (now there was a song!!!)
Weller in Tights Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Great spelling mistake at the end by me!!! Sorry to all the spell checkers, its not a Freudian slip, honest, it's simply a Typo.
Tommeh Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 People love giving Palace a rimming on here, for what 50 odd youths and a few flags acting all European? No club that needs a "big day out" away fixture gets any respect off me. Offered nothing yesterday also, just a constant annoying drum beat throughout. Our end was excellent.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Thought Brighton's home support was pathetic in terms of noise.

I forget which aways I've done this season I think they were; Torquay, Wolves, Birmingham, Wednesday, Derby and Brighton. I suppose of all of those Derby were the pick of a shit bunch. Forest will be immense
jordanlcfc Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Wednesday were the best fans to come to the KP this season
