Notts- Where We Drinking?

Recommended Posts

Canal House is always a good place to go.

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is worth a visit as well.

I wouldn't advise anywhere near the ground though unless you want to be surrounded by Forest.

Right, we usually go to the Beeches on Wilford Rd. Nothing ever happens there, which is why we like it. It's a place of mixed fans and never any trouble.

However today someone has mentioned The Navigation by the canal near the station. Thoughts?

Thought the Navigation was home only

The Navigation is definitely not home fans only. My previous two trips to forest (FA cup and 2-2 league) we've been to the navi and it's been full of our lot, even get a police escort to the ground normally. But yeah as it's a lunchtime KO I doubt it will be open in time for it to be an option.

If there notopening the Country ground before hand its gonna be cans on there way there and a bottle of 'special cola' in the ground for me.

What about hooters?

Last time we went they weren't letting in large groups of blokes. By large groups I'm only talking about 8 lads. The Globe allowed us in though I was that drunk I can't remember if they thought we were forest or whether they accepted away fans in. I also have a feeling it shut down.

Yeh I saw the other thread. We'll be there for opening time. Minibus picking us up at 9am. On the tins from 7am. Forest away always seems to come with red hot weather. Tops off in the away end.I am absolutely buzzing for this.

We just need some radios that can get 5live as I hate relying on other fans especially after the day we went down

Larwood and Voce is a very, very nice pub/restaurant which will be open on matchday, i'm guessing the nice Forest folk will go there so if your not wearing colours and are a LCFC i would head there. Avoid Trent Bridge inn, you won't be able to move for Forest fans, same with Southbank bar, which was actually occupied by city fans in the cup?! but again this will be full of forest. (shame as it has been re-furbished and is mint inside, sky sports in every booth and well decent grub). ye old trip to jerusalem is not a pre football match pub experience by any means, its like a windy cave and does not fit big crowds in by any means, very nice pub though if you ever visit Nottingham! i would recommend the Roebuck inn on St James street (weatherspoons just of Market square) a bit hidden away and it is massive, not many home fans there either. If you do go please make a racket as i resigned from there due to the Boss being an absolute tw*t. If its a nice day you should take a stroll into the avenue in West Bridgford (5 min walk from the city ground if that) it has the Monkey tree, Fire and Ice and a few others with are really really nice bars and have front patio areas too which would be ideal if the weather is hot, Prices are a bit steep, looking at around £3.80 cheapest for a lager. failing all these options then do what a group of us did last year in the cup, buy cans from the off licence next to Dominoes pizzas and Amicci's (very rough pub but shut down now) and have a few outside there singing Leicester songs as last year we weren't allowed into any pubs! I live in area so any questions don't hesitate to ask

As we have a reduced allocation it would be great to get as many as possible going to Notts County. I know it's not the nicest place and the beer isn't the best but it's probably the only place we can all congregate before the game and loosen the vocal chords. I remember we had a few blokes stood on the tables a few years back leading a few chants - it'd be good to get a few new chants going if there's enough of us in there.
