NewburyFox Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 http://www.fsf.org.uk/20plenty Fairly self-explanatory, if you believe that £20 would be a reasonable cap for away tickets then sign the petition. Over 6,000 signatures so far, but will need a hell of a lot more to make any sort of impact so get signing!
HEGGSY Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 Been posted numerous times mate in the General Sport section
NewburyFox Posted 29 April 2013 Author Posted 29 April 2013 Been posted numerous times mate in the General Sport section Ah right, I didn't see. Thanks
Fox92 Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 As above, has been posted, but good enough to post again for people who missed it.
Thomas_Kirkup Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 I've signed. It would be nice to see a cap introduced for away tickets.
MPH Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 I don't understand the concept of this petition. Will about 10 quid really make a difference to whether someone goes to an away game? Besides in a day when so many clubs are losing money... we want them to lose out on some income? I don't think they'd be up for that at all.. Sorry to be all bah humbug about all this... I just don't see the need... If your finances are so bad that ten quid will make all the difference between wether you go or not then maybe you shouldn't be going at all.....
purpleronnie Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 I agree not sure how you can impact on the finances of some clubs, you might as well try for a wages cap, if there was a wages cap then ticket prices could be lowered, and we know a wage cap isnt going to happen. Sure the financial fair play may have a small impact but never enough to lower prices infact it may increase them. if fans are willing to pay those prices then they will remain that high.

I had planned to go to Leeds this season but refused to pay the price.
peach0000 Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 We need to be careful we don't limit clubs incomes. Like with the wage cap in rugby union we don't want to limit clubs capabilities too much. If they don't have income they won't be able to compete internationally

Like with the wage cap in rugby union we don't want to limit clubs capabilities too much. If they don't have income they won't be able to compete internationally Germany seem to be doing alright. In a very simplified view, either you introduce a wage cap and clubs don't need to charge as much for tickets, or you introduce cheaper ticket prices so clubs can't sustainably spend as much on wages. There's obviously more to it, but something has to be done.
superhorns Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 In my opinion, yes. I had planned to go to Leeds this season but refused to pay the price. didn't Leicester reduce the price for the Watford game but kept the away prices high?
DennisNedry Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 didn't Leicester reduce the price for the Watford game but kept the away prices high? I'm not sure because I am a STH but it wouldn't make any sense for the club to reduce the away ticket prices, why would we want a full noisy away end? Forest are doing the same to us by only giving us 2000 tickets.
Maybes Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 didn't Leicester reduce the price for the Watford game but kept the away prices high? No?
LutterworthLCFC Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 It also helps premierleague fans, like when arsenal were charging man city £60 a ticket
Deucalion Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 Signed it, for all the good it will do. Here's my comment; What? Non humans not allowed to vote ?!?! Speciesist !! 29th April 2013 - 22:52PM Well it entertained me anyway.
fleckneymike Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 Flawed premis. Was an excellent piece by a Liverpool fan on his away day at Arsenal. Not one person around him was a ST holder like him and not one person had paid the same price as him. They'd all bought tickets at a marked up price of the Internet, reducing the face value will just increase the mark up margin. Take Forest away, we have folk on here willing to pay through the nose for a ticket, make the face value £20 and the profit to the seller increases.
