David Hankey Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 What is all this crap I'm reading?!! "Not ready for the Premiership but will be next year" and the "Thais won't make rash decisions". When we top for two games and second for longer weren't we good enough then. We should have built on that platform achieved by hard work and endeavour but Pearson I'm afraid is NOT the manager to take us into the Premiership. As for rash decisions, have they mellowed since Sven?!!
Rincewind Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Be consoled that we may have struggled next season and come strraight down.
Happy Fox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 If a better manager is available truth be told there some such as MON etc, then I would get rid of NP for them. We don't need to strengthen the team massively it just needs a couple of tweaks you could argue that NP is the man to do that but for me he hasn't got that ability to get us promotion from this division imo.
kingfox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 I would like Pearson to stay now, can't go sacking him for today, he is the only manager who can pick these players up now, and try and keep the same core for next season. The loans can go back, get rid of the dead wood and sell Konchesky and Drinkwater as they won't bring anything to our side next season. I'm going to renew my season ticket in the next couple of days, regardless of being in the Championship, I'm ready for another season, so let's bring it on.
HitchinFox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Really tough next season with the teams coming down. That's what we said last summer. Yet Wolves went down this year, as nearly did Blackburn. We also said that the year before, and the likes of Blackpool and Birmingham struggled. Unless Villa or Newcastle come down, I wouldn't worry about the clubs coming down from the Prem to be honest. Reading and QPR are small clubs - put will still be the scalps other teams will want to take next season, so they'll find the Championship tough. As long as we go about our business like we did until January – and don't do what we've been doing for the past three months, lose to teams below us – we'll be up there again next season. If we keep Kasper, Nuge and Knockaert (can't see there being much interest towards our other core players) and add decent back up in defence, we'll be ok. Still think Wood and Nugent will be good enough as a strike force, supported by Schlupp.
cc_star Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Looking forward to next season, can't come quickly enough! Hopefully we can do some wheeling & dealing to get rid of the players who didn't contribute and further develop the areas we need to improve on in an effort to be genuine auto contenders (rather than the period of over-achievement) we had earlier this year. We're halfway there, last thing I want is starting all over again. Up the City!
wattolcfc Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Life is good for City fans at the moment. How? Pearson had the biggest budget in the League, had expensive signings from Sven's reign which he couldn't control and had an aim, not this season, but also of last season to achieve promotion, which both times, he failed to do. In your job, if you failed to deliver, year on year, would you still be in a job? ..I certainly wouldn't.
