Deucalion Posted 12 May 2013 Author Posted 12 May 2013 If we carry this form onto next season, I see us going down. Can't believe OP is talking about automatic promotion. Believe what you like but I believe we will be better, stronger, and more importantly, more consistent next season.
dylanlegend Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 We need to sort out the defence for next year. I don't understand the bumming of Keane he is dodgy IMO, it's no coincidence since he's been in the team we have been defensively shit. We are shocking at defending corners and set pieces. new RB, CB and LB required

Konchesky's legs cannot last forever.
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Torn on this... The second time we have failed in the play-offs, albeit again due to a missed penalty. But Pearson HAS made some big errors this season. The signing of Kane I will never understand. He's stuck with Keane when it was clear he was starting to struggle. Tactical bizarre decisions eg. I would NEVER have taken Lloyd off today for Drinkwater. The jury remains out for me but, as I said weeks ago, I doubt the Thais will sack him anyway. I'm pretty convinced he will be here come the start of next season. It's easy to say 'stick with Pearson'.. Without discussing the reasons why.. But I'm not sure he quite has it in him to take us to the next level. I guess we'll see... Again.
Dr The Singh Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Need some quality in area's. The gulf between us and Watford was a concern, with better teams comming down from prem, we need to be consistantly be beating teams in this leagye!!
Yojoe36 Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Believe what you like but I believe we will be better, stronger, and more importantly, more consistent next season. That's what everyone said after the Cardiff game. Let's see if the owners keep Pearson first. I hope they do. I can't be fvcked with another Sousa type era.
ousefox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Kasper is bound to go. Won't sign a new contract and far too good for us

dylanlegend Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 To be fair Watford were the best team in the league technically. At the end of the day their all Serie A players. We need someone like Abdi and their centre back Eksrund impressed me

I agree, slowly teetering towards give someone else a go, I think he shackles himself sometimes and doesn't have the vision or balls to change things.I guess ultimately the question is: was the top quality (and it was) football we were playing earlier in the season because of, or in spite of, Pearson?
fazzyfox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Just turned over to sky sports 1 and Stoke are on. Makes Bournemouth & Doncaster seem not as unappealing as you'd think.
dylanlegend Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Cardiff just missed out last year. Improved their side and came back stronger. We can do the same.
lcfc will Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Kasper is bound to go. Won't sign a new contract and far too good for us I don't think he is far too good for us actually, he's a top level championship keeper, if he could hack it in the prem he'd have been up there by now
Deucalion Posted 12 May 2013 Author Posted 12 May 2013 Don't blame Knockaert, Anthony Knockaert, You just don't seem to understand... Anyone want to finish this for me?
Rincewind Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 It's easy to say 'stick with Pearson'.. Without discussing the reasons why.. But I'm not sure he quite has it in him to take us to the next level. In general clubs get rid of manager these days much too quick. It takes time to build a team. Change in a manager often involves a change in players backroom staff and tactics and a restart. For most of the season City have been looked upon as the best team in the league.
Haydos Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Use this as the foundations. We can go forward from here. We didn't deserve it today but we've got everything we need to go up next season.
Dr The Singh Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Cardiff just missed out last year. Improved their side and came back stronger. We can do the same. Agreed, they got rid of there manager also after they failed, which I think we should do!
Happy Fox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 I don't think the Thais will make rash decisions they will evaluate in the comings days whether they feel NP is the right man to lead us to promotion and keep us in the prem. Anyway it will be another interesting summer that is for sure.
The Guvnor Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 How can anyone begin to think about next season, will take me some time to get over today I am totally done in.
Deucalion Posted 12 May 2013 Author Posted 12 May 2013 I'm expecting a few people I like to leave this summer and I am steeled to it. The list might include Pearson. I'm not going to get upset whoever leaves, so long as an able replacement comes in.
CloudFox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 We weren't ready for the Premiership this season. Next year, we will be. We ****ing will be. How can anyone begin to think about next season, will take me some time to get over today I am totally done in. I think it's a coping mechanism. Most of us are in shock I imagine.
dylanlegend Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Agreed, they got rid of there manager also after they failed, which I think we should do! No they didn't they lost to West Ham in playoffs and stuck with Mackay
Deucalion Posted 12 May 2013 Author Posted 12 May 2013 How can anyone begin to think about next season, will take me some time to get over today I am totally done in. No offence intended, but I used to be like that back in the 1990s. Days like today would stay with me and put a downer on me for a week afterwards. I am more able to take defeat now. The fact is, we were involved in the promotion shake up this year. Even though it sucks big time to lose like we have today, the good times cannot be far away. I would take losing in the way we did today over our season fizzling out a few games before the end of the season or looking over our shoulders at the relegation places. Life is good for City fans at the moment.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 No point trying to be rational or objective at a time like this. I'm off out to get ****ed up.
