Apart from bankers, businessmen, Daily Mail readers and people who make an effort at work. You're a living saint.

including those. Those on low or minimum wages also work hard sometimes doing two or three extra part time jobs to survive.

Where does this nonsense of 70, 000 kids going hungry at Christmas come from?

You really need to do sone travelling Ken, it would broaden your horizons and you might see what real poverty is.

As I have stated many times I have no grudges against those that work hard to acheive success and contribute the correct amount of taxes/. This applies to workers from low to middle to high wage earners. Now tell me why it is wrong to want fairness for all?

UK 'to be Europe's biggest economy'

The UK is on course to become Europe's largest economy within two decades, overtaking France and Germany, according to a new report.

The think tank Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) predicts the UK's GDP will first move to fifth place ahead of France by 2018 before leapfrogging Germany around 2030.

However, despite being forecast to be the second most successful of the Western economies after the US, it will fall behind the accelerating economies of India and Brazil.

"Germany is forecast to lose its position as the largest Western European economy to the UK around 2030 because of the UK's faster population growth and lesser dependence on the other European economies," the report said.

But added: "If the euro were to break up, Germany's outlook would be much better. A Deutsche Mark-based Germany certainly would not be overtaken by the UK for many years if ever."

Douglas McWilliams, the CEBR's chief executive, told The Daily Telegraph that Britain could become even stronger outside the European Union.

"My instinct is that in the short term, the impact of leaving the EU would undoubtedly be negative," he said.

"My suspicion is that over a 15-year period, it would probably be positive."

It added that a factor driving the UK's move ahead of Germany are the assumption of a falling value for the euro, Germany's falling population and the UK's rising population.

The gap between the two countries will fall from almost £610 billion in 2013 to just £183 billion in five years.

The UK's GDP will grow from more than £1.59 trillion in 2013 to £2.6 trillion in 2028, compared to China which is predicted to be in top position with a GDP of more than £20.5 trillion, ahead of the US with an estimated £19.7 trillion

Japan will fall from its steady position in the global league of third to fourth by 2028, overtaken by India and followed by Brazil, Germany and the UK.

Britain on course to become strong man of Europe

Now read some of the comments  though , it seems even torygraph readers aren't being taken in by this shite anymore .

It's not a govt report it's an academic think tank. The growth of the economies mentioned seem more linked to the growth in populations rather than the health of the economies for instance Switzerland has a smaller economy than India but I think we all know where we'd rather lived based on living standards.

It's all a bit silly to speculate on what will happen in 16 years time anyway because there are so many variables. If Labour get in next time we'll start going backwards again, if the socialist president gets voted out next time, which seems likely, France will start moving in the right direction again.

It is interesting how the government is spreading the message that everything is wonderful, yet it doesn't feel like that. Cannot wait to vote this government out.

Things feel pretty good to me. So much work on at the moment that I can barely keep up. Been offered two new jobs so far this December, took them both to my boss and got an instant 20% pay rise ahead of my annual review on March when I've been promised more. They're desperate to keep hold of staff now.

My profession is pretty much on the front line when it comes to reacting to macroeconomic changes, among the first to get hit in a recession, among the first to feel the benefits of a boom. It might take a bit longer to reach other people but the wave of prosperity is on its way for anyone who has spent the last few years wisely.

Maybe he runs a foodbank outsourced by the council?

No, I reckon he's an estate agent! Why else would he be so secretive about it.

Wait....I've found their web site: "Chiseler, Rackett & Moosebreath Estates Ltd, oleaginous, sharp-suited salespeople at your instant disposal..."   :xmaswink:

It would now be socially inappropriate to call me "Sir" as, in the Queen's New Year Dishonours List, I have been stripped of my knighthood for disservices to monetarism and verbosity on a football forum.

I like that concept - an annual dishonours list.

In case you're interested, Alf Bentley was the manager who, in the early 80s, briefly brought some minor glory to Folkestone Town FC, my hometown club. In truth, he was never knighted, which is an injustice more disgraceful than any other that I can think of. After all those years of miserable failure, the Cheriton Road ground was briefly bathed in glory under the real Alf, the only Alf who matters in the history of English football (what did that Ramsey ever achieve?!).

Of course, Zingari, you may call me Alf, Sir Alf, Fvcking Cvnt or Sir Fvcking Cvnt (might change my name to that last one some day) - I shall always be glad to hear from you!

I saw where loopholes have been found in the bedroom tax and thousands can legally appeal. News is slow appearing in the main stream press and media or FoxesTalk come to think of it. I was waiting to see if anyone else had seen anything about it.

Its not so much the government but councils that have implemented the charges.

That's strange because most of us spend hours a day looking for loopholes in the bedroom tax.
