Mike Oxlong Posted 19 August 2013 Posted 19 August 2013 Mike, all l do is see more things about Pearson to confirm and strengthen my opinion of him, and l find that most Pearsonites ignore whats going on. l don't really want to get into it too deep as i'm a bit fed up of banging my head against the wall, but think about the decisions he made with the subs on Saturday, did they make us better or worse ? and is this typical ? Also think about playing a forward as a left back, not as a wing back an out and out full back, when we have just brought one in. Just a couple of things but theres stuff like this every single game that do not make sense in my world and plenty of others. And you're entitled to your opinion BNET but for me your 100% negative view of Pearson means that I don't attach much weight to your views - it's that he appears to get EVERYTHING wrong in your eyes without there being ANY positives. As I said, overall I think he's mediocre but his record suggests he's not the worst manager we've had and up to Christmas last season I thought we were playing some of the best football we've played in years.Don't know why it went wrong ( I suspect you'll blame Pearson and only Pearson but I think some of the players are responsible for lacking bottle and desire). Anyway, I'm not going to convince you that the manager has any redeeming features and you won't convince me that he's entirely shit. And the number of people who share your view makes no odds as there are significant numbers on each side of the debate and in any event I go on what I see myself and my consequent overall assessment of that. Which reminds me, have you seem the film Twelve Angry Men? If not and you have a spare afternoon you should watch it as it's a cracker. Anyway, each to their own eh!
shade Posted 19 August 2013 Posted 19 August 2013 You couldn't be more wrong Mike. Also its not hatred either, he is just a terrible football manager, and i'm a Leicester fan, so l want him gone asap thats all. pics of yourself now and a pic of you in a LCFC kit/at wembley/with scarf etc from a few years ago or STFU!

Mike Oxlong Posted 19 August 2013 Posted 19 August 2013 What are you view to the questions i've posed then Mike ?Didn't go Derby so can't comment on those subs but I thought the subs v Leeds improved the team. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't but that's football. As for Schlupp, it was Sven who first thought he could play at left back wasn't it? Only saw Backyougo against Monaco when he wasn't great but none of our lot were in that game so until I see more of him the jury's out as far as I'm concerned though I do understand why Konchesky didn't play given the circumstances. I prefer Schlupp upfront but can understand why he played at left back. What did you think of our football August to December last season?

Nothing to do with Sven playing Schlupp at left back on Saturday, l see that as the usual smoke screen put up by Pearsonites. To answer your question l thought the football was great and l couldn't see anyone beating us for the rest of the season at the time. But there lays the problem with Pearson, its there, we know it, we've seen it, so why can't he keep it going ? as ive always said we have got a squad who can win the league, but a manager who doesn't know what to do as he is clueless. When things went wrong and don't think it was a blip, as it went disastrously wrong, from champagne football to relegation form, why didn't he go back to what worked ? He's an arrogant man who believes he's cleverer than most people, but he wasn't clever enough to see what was wrong, he kept changing the players and style of play, getting it wrong every time. l have no faith in him at all and l can't get why some can't see this, even to a degree.

How the hell can you confidently say this about the man? So you rate our squad above the likes of QPR, Wigan, Reading, Watford, Forest, Bolton etc...? And if you rate our squad so highly let's see who was brought in by Pearson: De Laet, Morgan, Moore (gave him his chance), Drinkwater, James, Knocky, Dyer (bought him in league 1), Waggy (got him on loan originally), Wood, Vardy, Marshall, Gallagher... The man you so insist on slating has brought together the squad you rate as good enough to be promoted. Surely he is doing something right??

Pearson can't manage a team, thats what l said, but you can't get that can you, all you see is an opinion that you don't like, so as ive said i've had enough of banging my head agaist the wall with people like you, who don't want to understand. l don't care if you agree or not but please try and understand what I've said, then rip it to bits if you like, its a message board. me names Gough and i'm off !!!!

Well if he had us playing "champagne football" for half the season I can't see how he's "clueless" as a manager. However, as such he bears a responsibility for the decline but so do the players, whether because of their egos or lack of bottle/desire.I don't have any need to convince you that I am right and despite you having the zeal of a Jehovah's Witness you have about as much chance of converting me as they do. And Bentleys and here are rather different. It's rather nice on here - we even have a chillout tent. A pro Pearsonite on Bentleys wouldn't get banned but in all likelihood would have a choice of arseholes to shit from once the regulars had torn him a new one!

Eh? People like me? This is the first thing I've said and none of it with a pro-Pearson demeanour... I've just pointed out how you said you rate the squad so highly but not the manager, despite the manager having assembled the majority of the squad. I understand what you are saying very clearly actually but disagree because I feel Pearson is not utterly "clueless" and does have the capabilities to manage a team as he's shown by, probably most impressively of all, taking a mediocre squad to the play offs in 09-10, as well as taking us to the play-offs last year. What it seems to me is that anyone that disagrees with you is given the Pro-Pearson idiot tag and you decide to ignore the fact that some people actually construct arguments that aren't based on throwing insults of the guy being "clueless"... Part of managing a team involves appointing the right backroom staff, buying the right players etc... as well as getting the tactics right. So surely he's not as hopeless as you make out. You seem to be suggesting Pearson is completely incompetent, when in fact I feel you don't give the guy enough credit.
marbelladave Posted 19 August 2013 Posted 19 August 2013 This thread's become farcical! Actually it has become hilarious, but the I guess a farce can be funny too. Just waiting for someone's better half to come on and post the immortal words...... "Leave it, just leave it, he's not worth it". Can't be long surely......
