Guest Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24749097 I can only agree with this. Get on with your job - win and you'll get rewarded lose and you're up for grabs. Players whose contracts are ending: Kasper Schmeichel - we need to keep him Sean St Ledger - not in our top 5 CBs now - sell at Christmas or let go Marcin Wasilewski - looks good but not so young, we can afford to wait and see Wes Morgan - Hope we keep but Was and moore (and even the loan market) show that he's not irreplaceable. Would like to keep him whether we're promoted or not at a corresponding salary Paul Konchesky - still good enough for the championship but probably not if we're promoted, with his wages being prem size he'll be let go. Zac Whitbread - Won't be with us next season. Neil Danns - won't be with us next season. Martyn Waghorn - still young enough, we can wait and see. Gary Taylor-Fletcher - probably gone but not seen enough of him yet. Lloyd Dyer - not good enough for the prem but worth keeping until he loses a step, he'll play for a reduced price because he's City to the core. David Nugent.- would like to keep as a back up (Teddy Sheringham) type if promoted, still good enough to play championship. Wages may need negotiating And I'd sign Pearson up on a long term contract whether we're promoted or not. What are your views?
LCFC FOX Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Kasper - 3 years no matter what division but a little wage cut Morgan - 3 years no matter what division but a little wage cut Koncheskey - 1 year on reduced wage no matter what division Wasilewski - 1 year if premier league 2 years if championship St Ledger - Release Whitbread - Release Danns - Release Taylor - Fletcher - Release Waghorn - 1 year no matter what league Dyer - 2 years if championship 1 year if premier league Nugent - 2 years if championship 1 year if premier league but little wage cut Pearson - 3 year contract I think as soon as the board give Pearson a new contract he will then start offering players new deals. Until then he doesn't care about giving players new deals as he knows he may no be here so why should he care

Do you really think a man of Pearsons nature doesn't care??
LCFC FOX Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Its just my opinion. Pearson knows if he doesn't get promotion he may be out the door. Therefor if he left do you think he would care if all them players left as well?
Ric Flair Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 New deals to Kasper and Wes, the rest are all replaceable including the manager should we gamble on not offering them a new deal just yet.
MrSpaM Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Lloyd not ready for the prem? I beg to differ, he has a habit of scoring against top sides, Real Madrid springs to mind
MattyFromLE Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 In fairness. I think Pearson has drilled into the lads that contract talks are more relevant when we know what situation we'll be in next year. All the lads seem to play for Pearson - most of them seem loyal, respectable players that won't throw toys out of the pram. And if they do, and they're disloyal and don't want to be here - then I don't want them here, regardless of who they are. Pearson again, is being really clever. Get the lads to perform well, to get promoted, so everyone can get a new contract. Instead of spuffing all our remaining cash on a contact negotiated by panic, then losing 3/4 players in the summer. Pearson is no mug!
Harry - LCFC Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 We've always had this idea going about Dyer not being good enough for this and not being good enough for that. I think it's pretty obvious that he's a great contributor to this team personally. I just think others have this agenda against him because he's not a very technical footballer and want to judge him negatively for it.
Leicesterpool Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 How do we not know that Nigel hasn't already been offered a new contract but decided to put it on hold until the summer to see if we get promoted or not? Maybe he feels the same, if i don't take them up this season then i never will... time to move on?! saying all that though i would think it would boost the players confidence if knowing the manager as extended his contract for another of couple years.
sylofox Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 It's ok NP saying it is not important. Come jan with only 6 months left can they not all start talking to other clubs. If so is that not going to be a bigger problem and distraction than us sorting them out now? To me the fact we are not talking to players and sorting things now say's FFP is still a problem.
