Jimmy Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 he means we're back to 442 - when plan A fails revert to plan A
StanSP Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 Pearson's has proven that the myth of him having a plan b over the summer break is false, league out here we come What? One game it fails and suddenly it becomes a myth? Pearson's tactics have been spot on more times than they've been incorrect this season. You don't win 14 games out of 20 (?) whilst being tactically inept.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 I was quite surprised by the substitutions, and felt that Pearson, who has got things pretty well right, thus far, made bad calls. Hope he doesn't start making wrong choices.
The Doctor Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 Do any weasels have a point? I only ask as whilst I have no interest in beastiality a **** weasel does conjure up some interesting imagery! I've no idea tbh - I've not really studied sweary animals in much detail.
Grewks Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I have heard some drivel in my time......but some of this takes the biscuit..... "Billy Davies taught Pearson a tactical lesson". Are you serious?? We lined up 4-4-2, like we almost ALWAYS do, and in the first 30 mins tore them a new one, chance after chance, dominating possession etc. We just lacked a finish. Whatever system you play it is designed to create chances, we created those chances and just couldn't put one away. So to say Billy got his tactics right is just a joke, his Forest side were outplayed for the most part by a system which we always implement, and we did so again. Maybe this result was coming, considering the 3 points we stole at derby earlier in the season.
Grewks Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Absolutely... Ever though drinky could play that central role? If Nuge continues to perform terribly (Personally i have never seen him put in a great performance), and vardy isn't fully fit...why don't we try and play the same system as we did against Fulham? If we play a trio of .......hammond......james .................................................drinky Then you have a central midfield which is both more solid and more creative in my opinion, as nuge offers little in creativity as every time he has the ball at his feet he looks like he will give it away. Should also allow us more space outwide because the opposition will have to use another player in the middle to combat them, and if they don't, then we can just dominate through the center of the pitch. For me, Drinky looks a class above at the moment, and even through his distribution from deep is great, he is our only central player capable of both driving forward with the ball, but also keeping a good defensive shape.
Grewks Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Pearson's has proven that the myth of him having a plan b over the summer break is false, league out here we come We changed to a different plan (must be what? Plan H so far this season) in the second half when he brought on GTF and Hammond, it didn't work move on. 9/10 times subs never make an impact, but if you don't throw the dice you can't role a 6.
svensson Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I love people who write in CAPITAL letters to emphasis a point. Thanks lads, it helps, would have missed it otherwise....

svensson Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 NO PROBLEM Why the need for it? Do you think that folk on here don't have the intelligence to pick up on it? Or is it for your benefit because you type as you speak...
Grewks Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Why the need for it? Do you think that folk on here don't have the intelligence to pick up on it? Or is it for your benefit because you type as you speak.. What does intelligence have to do with anything? With text, it can be extremely complicated to understand the context of certain phrases, as is often the case with sarcasm for example. Using capital letters just highlights the main point you want to get across, and offers a larger deal of context to the sentence. The fact you even bring this up just shows it works.
Harry - LCFC Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I love people who write in CAPITAL letters to emphasis a point. Thanks lads, it helps, would have missed it otherwise.... Prefer italics myself, more subtle. I get why people do it though, sometimes when you're having a conversation you do have to add a bit of weight to certain words to help make a point. Although I agree it is a little over used on here at times.

Nah, I just find it laughable that you feel the need to emphasise points, its as if us minions don't understand.. We get it...

I don't think you get it though pal. Unless we highlight a phrase/sentence etc....How on earth do you know what we want to emphasise??
Grewks Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I find it patronising.. It is simply used to make the word stand out.....the fact you're continuing to go on about it just shows that it does its job.

Not at all, Try again.
Harry - LCFC Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I find it patronising.. I know exactly what you mean. Certain posters do it all the time, it's as if they can't understand why someone wouldn't agree with them. I try not to unless I think it's really necessary.

StanSP Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I prefer to use multiple colours Italics works well if you get it right.
Babylon Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I could understand him removing the wide players as we were getting nowhere really, so clearly the switch to go through the middle was worth a try. But as others have said Hammond really wasn't the player it called for. James would have been much more suitable at that moment. Or indeed putting Knockaert more central. Sadly, when one of our main three strikers is not in the squad, we lack serious options to change things. At both Doncaster and Forest we we missing a striker and had to rely on Schlupp up front. Forest showed almost zero attacking intent, and them scraping two scruffy goals compounded the problem as they could just sit back even more. How they lined up was very much like the Donny game which we also lost. We need to find a solution now, because this is what happened last year. Teams stopped trying to play us and just started trying to stop us
