The Gym (at the Highcross)

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just wanted to see if anyone on here is a member of The Gym at the Highcross.

From what I can see it looks ok and good value, but I wanted to see what sort of gym it was before I commit.

I'm very unfit, not particularly toned and, well a bit on the chubby side.

Looking for any reviews, what the equipement is like, is it full of knobheads etc

I used to go and found it great value for money if all you need is access to the equipment. Their cardio section is huge and usually has free machines, upstairs the resistance machines and free weights can get a bit crowded, so avoid peak hours. They've even got free classes in their studio if you can come in at certain times.

I'd say it's good value for money and a fair mix of people use it. Only downside is how busy it can get at certain times, but suppose that's expected with its location.

But it is definitely worth joining purely for the price. Plus I'm sure there is an option to cancel, or freeze your contract after each month if you don't like it.

All gyms are full of knobheads.

I joined about two years ago, still there. Having been to many gyms in Leicester I think it's great value for money. Not got all the sauna/jacuzzi stuff but it's always pretty clean and staff are quite helpful. I'm paying £15.99 a month but I think it's gone down to £10.99? Only downside is that it can get very busy in the evenings especially if you want to use the free weights. It is open 24/7 however so mornings/early afternoons it's pretty dead.

I'd recommend it!
