foxfanazer Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 With all this drama surrounding managerial sackings and resignations, it would be nice if we could change suit and not panic if we have a few dodgy results. Pearson is building a good side here and if a new man was to come in I fear there would be another huge overhaul of the playing staff which we really don't need

Not sure if our players would suit other manager style of play anyway haha, we are unique

foxfanazer Posted 16 December 2013 Author Posted 16 December 2013 How long will this last? How long will what last?
Callabinho Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 I see Zola has ended his loan spell at Watford!
sylofox Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 No Panic here But our owners are causing most of this with the refusal to sort contracts. How long will what last? This thread
cityfanlee23 Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Was really expecting a sarcy comment Not at all mate, although we disagree a lot I think you're a good one
foxfanazer Posted 16 December 2013 Author Posted 16 December 2013 Not at all mate, although we disagree a lot I think you're a good one It's good to have people with different opinions on here. Would be a boring place if everybody agreed all of the time

Bryn Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Pearson would actually be a very good fit at WBA, they will go higher profile though. Luckily for us Pearson doesn't seem to attract much attention.
Haydos Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 That draw with Burnley is one of the most disappointing I've witnessed considering the amount of chances we had in the first half. If we'd have won that it's a different story again. It is the owners who have left us to this speculation though with the lack of contracts offered. There's always going to be speculation when there's this little communication.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 There hasn't really been speculation of Pearson leaving, just people putting 1 and 1 together and getting 3. Our owners have already shown restraint keeping Pearson here after the incredibly disappointing way we ended last season. The recent three games have been disappointing but you need to look at the bigger picture and the fact we are still in the promotion spots, something a lot of people didn't think we would with the pre season panic.
Pen 3 Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 The game is a victim of owners with deep pockets; AVB sacked despite the best Spurs managerial record since 1890s. What was more shocking was the attitude of some of their squad (didn't seem to give a damn how they played against Liverpool). The conundrum with managerial sackings and player changes is that they do have a significant effect both positive and negative on performance. It can be the same manager too (poor results with one club suddenly get replaced with good results when they take the reigns at another). Everton is a good example of this in the current season. Any team not scoring or doing what is expected will get changed - that's got nothing to do with us, that'll be down to the need to get a return on that investment....it has to be unsettling that we have NP and so many players free to talk to other clubs in the New Year. I can't get my head around the impact that is having on our performances but it has to have some, and I can't imagine what it's like to have the owners' money and lose my nerve after a few poor performances..odd game, footy...
