Local Saturday Football.

There could be a thread on here for this kind of thing but I haven't seen one and I know a lot of people will go to the King Power on a Saturday or even play Saturday Footbal..

But if Leicester are playing away or you can't go and watch Leicester, who do you go and watch locally? Or if you do play, who do you play for?

Barrow Town for me.

Not playing any football this season as I can't commit to training and match days.

I'll be back playing next season for St Andrews or Friar Lane. How are Barrow Town getting on this season I had a few friends who played for them last season.

We must have a lot of mutual friends haha.

Not so well this season mate, both managers left, one for work commitments and the other went to Quorn and took a lot of the players, the others were coming from Nottingham and haven't signed and the others have gone to other clubs. No money down there to attract players and the Kirby Reserves manager from last season hasnt long taken over and brought in new faces..

I think we will have yes.

Football clubs go through cycles like that specially at this level. I remember a few years back a construction owner (won't say names) was going into different clubs every other year, taking players with hun winning a league or cup then leaving. Kirby aren't doing that well either this season.

Going Rushden on Saturday as St Andrews have got them in the Vase, should be a good game and we're taking about 100/150 there.

Yeah a lad I know plays for the Drews, Brady? His Dad is a good friend. Hope you give a good account!

We all know the man you're not naming, wanted Barrow but wasn't allowed.

Been down to Oadby Town a couple times this season when we've not played on the Saturday. Levi Porter, Jon Stevenson and Julian Joachim all playing down there.

Brady is quality I've not saw a 17 year old as good as him in a long time.

Earlsy has signed for them hasn't he?

I've not really bothered going up Leicester at all this season, due to the fact I've become a Dad this year and I'm 30 in the summer I've decided to give playing Saturday/Sunday one last season before I drop Saturdays all together. Been to Tuesday night games and with the amount of TV Games/Streamed games we've had I've not actually missed that much. Play for Forest Road Rangers North Leics Div 2 (not quite the senior league lol) very tidy side for the level we are playing at, currently sit top and got into the County Cup Semi's at the weekend. I was starting every game but had 3/4 weeks off in a row in November for various reasons and struggled to reclaim my place since returning.

Other than that Ashby Ivanhoe would probably be the first port of call for a non league game when not going Leicester, I've been known to venture over to Coalville on the odd occasion as well.

I don't think we have an thread applicable to this there has been some talk of it in the Sunday League thread but obviously that's not applicable and the non league thread concerns teams a bit higher up than those playing at a local level.

Yeah he is the real deal, had trials and stuff this season, could play at a good standard in his career. Complete opposite to his Dad as a footballer lol

22 and I've had a weathered Saturday football career, ended my 4 year association managing, midway through last season with Sileby Saints. Started up Sileby Working Mens Club and to be honest I don't mind pottering about in the lower divisions. Think it's coming to the end though, unless I can get onto a decent reserve team (Senior league div 1) I don't think I'll be involved managing Saturday football again for a while, I started to realise I enjoy playing now!!

Just seen that he is involved with Barrow on Saturdays. Went school with him and was wondering if he's any good or not these days.
