lavrentis Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Does this ever get an airing? Used to like that when the Fosse Boys sang it. Just wondering
C-man Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I like it too. Peoples' criticism was that it was 'too European' which is incredibly ironic given we now do 'the Poznan' and sing 'We Love You'. Don't quite understand the fear of being 'European' given that's exactly what 99% of us are and how good some of their tunes can be - see Martinez's song at Everton. Great ditty. Fairly sure if the Fosse Boys hadn't have started it it would've caught on. You could argue it's more relevant now we've got a few French(ish) players....
Dan Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Lets also not forget the whole 'Allez Les Bleus' stuff. Snubbed because it was sung by the Fosse Boys. If Palace sung Viva Palace it'd be considered acceptable.
Bert Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 As long as it's not that shitty Celtic chant, I don't mind.
AndWhat? Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Bloody European songs coming over here and taking over our silent stands.

Mike the Metal Ed Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 On the subject of continental songs, what was the song a small section were singing in SK1 against Watford based on the "aux Armes" chant?

If Palace sung Viva Palace it'd be considered acceptable. I have tried to get 'Allez les Bleus' going a couple of times and have had little success.I really like it as a chant, ignoring the fact we have a couple of French players, I like it because I don't hear other clubs singing it, WE PLAY IN BLUE and it shows we have an international flavour to our song book. Oh and we do have a couple of French players. Allez les Bleus Allez les Bleus
Spudulike Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 What tune is it sung to ?? I'm glad the Melbourne (?) song has caught on.
1964FOX Posted 13 February 2014 Posted 13 February 2014 I always sing allez le blues for the non word part of the Melbourne chant it fits in nicely. Also love the viva Leicester chant.
