Haydos Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Why do people get all pissy about footballers wages? I never hear it mentioned for Musicians and Film stars or athletes in other sports. You're all part of it, players are paid this amount because all of us watch them every week.
Tielemans63 Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Totally not worth it. Man U are mugs for paying him that much.
Haydos Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Totally not worth it. Man U are mugs for paying him that much. I think it's a lot more complex that how it initially looks. They're paying for a massive statement as well as a player. If they sell him they'd have to find a world class replacement, pay a massive fee and then pay massive wages as well. By resigning Rooney they save on the fee and the difficulty of finding a replacement and also being held to ransom. By resigning him they're sending a message to their fans, other clubs and players (both theirs and potential signings) that they still have ambition and pulling power. If they get rid of him they could see their reputation and ability to sign world class players plummet.
AyewJoking Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 in other news, i have £29 in my bank and am desperately waiting for payday next week which will be around £1000 (monthly salary)
The Doctor Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 http://ampp3d.mirror.co.uk/2014/02/21/wayne-rooney-earnings/ so, the pm earns a penny in the time it takes him to earn a pound, and a person on minimum wage earns a penny in the time he earns a 10er. Obscene.
Stadt Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Good goal today but I'm bored of Shearer bumming him.
Corky Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 Got to give his agent massive credit for getting him £300k a week at 33. When they are in the Europa League under Moyes in the next couple of years I'm sure he'll cope.
Guest MattP Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 Frightening, he's a quality player on his day but you can't help thinking that isn't 78 million well spent. 5 year deal when he is touching 29
Charl91 Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 Well, he sure looks like a player that is worthy of such a huge contract.
