Hands up then.. which of you currently knocking Moyes DIDN'T think he was the right choice at the time? I did.. more importantly so did Sir Alex.

It was always gonna be difficult following in Ferguson's footsteps and he got out at EXACTLY the right time.. the squad needed/needs rebuilding.

I think Moyes will stay and will turn it around.. if he's given time (ring any bells?)...

I remember arguing with the majority of the forum saying Moyes wasn't the right man for the job. Seems again I was proven right.

This season anyway..

Honestly I thought it was a bad appointment. You can't bring a manager that has won nothing to such a successful club and not expect a rough first few seasons. He proved he was a decent manager at Everton but decent isn't good enough I'm afraid.

Fergie did stitch him up good and proper though

Me, he's a good manager but not at the top level with Manchester United.

Always struck me as someone who could get the best out of lesser ability players and play the underdog role well, but not stamp his authority on the very best players. Similar in many ways to Roy Hodgson.

Fair play to those that did question the appointment. Credit where due (is my middle name lol).

I still think more time should be given though. .

The real problem is time, Moyes has not yet completed his first season and people are calling for his head.

Ferguson finished 11th in his first season, give him time to build his team, the team he inherited was past it's used by date and a complete overhaul is required, however at a team like United that can't happen over night. You could argue he's done well with this team to get them to the q/f of te champions league and a top 6 finish in the premier league ( my opinion they will finish 6th).

Managers need 3 seasons to achieve success IMO, next season under Moyes yanited will improve and will be challenging again the season after if they stick with what they have.

Success is not instant and needs to be built.

Did he really do that well at Everton, all said and done? I mean - really?

They finished fourth one year but he didn't win anything in over a decade and flirted with relegation one season, if memory serves. He didn't have that little to spend, did he?
