Those out of contract at seasons end

Recommended Posts

I am not fully aware of who other than Nigel and Kasper are out of contract. So if any one in the know could update the contract situation for those that could/should be renewed.

I will start by saying it would be beyond reason for the club to not offer Nigel a long term deal that locks him up hell or high water and n matter what the result of next season is.  he must sign a new contract and soon to give the players a fans a real boost as we now go for the championship title and and promotion to the Premier League.

Kasper Schmichael is also a must resign.  He is entitiled to a PL wage commensurate with other goal keepers.  He would be our no.1 keeper, where he may not be assured of that at other clubs.  By the way it was a little disappointing not seeing Kasper with the rest of the team in that video when they were celebrating our promotion.

The others out of contract I am not sure who should be coming back.

Over to the rest of you.

Lloyd Dyer

David Nugent

Wasilewski

Gary Taylor-Fletcher

I think there's a few more.

He's got a young kid. I wouldn't read too much into it.

One of Pearson's key messages has been keeping the squad together. That kind of stability has been important this season. Even when we had what some people might consider decent offers for sometime fringe players like Schlupp and Moore, we've not even thought about accepting them. So regardless of whether people think players like Nuge, Lloyd and Wasyl are up to the Prem, they will all get offers and will all play a part if they stay.

Of course, there is a part of me that thinks it's all going too well at the moment and everyone out of contract will leave, including Nige, and we'll end up being managed by Mrs Srivaddhanaprabha.

He's already said he loves the club, loves the manager and wants to stay. I expect his agent will be angling for a wage rise given all the reported interest in him, but I'd be ok with that to be honest as I think he deserves it really - he's been a consistently key player for us since he signed.

If you listened to the interview with him over the weekend, he said he didn't want to get involved on Saturday as he said he'd find it 'unbearable' to watch, so I wouldn't read too much into him not hanging out with the lads to watch the results come in - sounds like he took a leaf out of the gaffer's book!

Pearson said: “I think we have a lot of players in this squad who are capable of making the step up.

“I intend to keep the whole squad together - those currently involved in the games.

“I'll do everything I can to keep those players together and add to that to make us a team that can function when we get where we want to be.”

Morgan and konch have signed extensions, although I'd imagine Wes will get a linger contract now we're up
