Kitchandro Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 The worst pundits are still Lawrenson and Hansen. I can't tell you how much I detest them. Lawrenson in particular. Lawrenson may be a camp smarmy whining tw*t but there's absolutely no way he's anywhere near as bad as Townsend.
StanSP Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 ITV already have Matt Smith in the wings so they've no excuse. One day we will have to suffer a football match with Peter Reid, Peter Schmeichel and Ian Sh*te. That will be the proverbial straw Matt Smith is terrible as well. What's wrong with Schmeichel?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 For me, this sums up ITV's coverage in nutshell......it went something like this, (Ian Wright) "Yea, when they come over here, it's almost Biblical." (Adrian Chiles) "Errr, we're talking about the storms now right Ian?" At times, during the Ecuador game, according to ITV's experts, we we're playing Colombia in Rio!? Stringer and Youngy could do a better job! ITV pundits make Stringer and Youngy look like gods.
AdamN Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 It's hard to explain why I hate him so much, but I think I saw the most accurate description of the man when someone called him the "world's biggest dad joke".
Corky Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 Yeh he's an embarrassment, what's wrong with using an actual presenter like Jim Rosenthal and not this clown? Because there is a belief that we want to hear "banter" from a personality presenter, rather than a professional approach such as asking proper questions of the pundits. Jim will ask questions about the game, but we all want to hear Adrian discuss the amusing hats in the crowd and the substitutes taking Selfies or whatever.
Guest ttfn Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 At least ITV are getting to the crux of the big issues of the game today, like what is going on in the radar room.
Haydos Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 Or when Ronaldo scored his under the wall freekick against a Bayern he was trying to tell us that Ronaldo meant it and he didn't in fact scuff it. Have a word.
Zapp Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 The worst pundits are still Lawrenson and Hansen. I can't tell you how much I detest them. Lawrenson in particular. haha i like lawro! takes the mick out of players, throws in a couple of bad jokes, when hes in the studio he has a laugh with the presenter however hes definitely best as the co commentator. just a good character who doesnt approach every scenario with the same boring monotone.
Agent Fox Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 It's a huge crime against the broadcasting of the sport in this country that James Richardson never landed a proper big gig with the BBC or iTV. Genuinely entertaining, witty, knowledgeable and able to string sentences together. He's a brilliant anchor, some of the stuff Chiles comes out with makes me feel patronised. Agreed, a very good broadcaster. John Inverdale is also brilliant, very knowledgeable about Rugby and Tennis so I reckon he could adapt to football also. I don't mind Chiles too much, he is obviously flawed but I enjoy watching him struggle. Andy Townsend is complete tosh though, what a turd he is. Tyldesley has gone bad also. The Worst: Townsend Keown Murphy Shearer Alan Smith Matt Smith Rednapp The Better: Inverdale Balding Richardson Gary Neville Souness Dunphy (RTE) Hoddle Big Mick Lawro
