Distracted when driving

In our local rag yesterday.Quite hard hitting no one was using a mobile but illustrates awareness of car drivers and dangers of speeding( bike rider doing 97mph)Now being used by the Police in Norfolk.

Saw that the other day, horrible stuff. The rider was riding too fast and should have anticipated the junction, however the car driver had absolutely terrible judgement (or wasn't paying attention) and I'd say was definitely at fault. Hopefully it will help raise awareness

I've seen cyclists using mobiles as well as using no hands. Mostly on quiet roads but still stupid. Especially if failing to see a car pulling out whose driver has not seen the cyclist.

If the cyclist fails to see the driver and the driver fails to see the cyclist then they both deserve the accident, and justice is served. 2 wrongs would make a right but I don't know how many times you've seen a situation of this nature

Well it was extreme to illustrate a point. If just one of them was distracted the outcome would be the same. If the cyclist is not on the phone they would know if the driver  was aware of them and visa versa. It would be rare for both to act like plonkers though.

Good post - still see so many people using their phones, as if life will stop if they don't ignore it - it pisses me off

 

ALMOST as dangerous and annoying is people who think that, because they can't answer the phone whilst driving, this gives them the right to pull over ANYWHERE in order to answer the phone.
