2015 Election season ..........stuff it in here.

Just seen on Twitter that an IPSOS Mori poll has the SNP winning every seat in Scotland (though they did mentiont the LDs might retain the Orks and Shetlands.) That would be absolutely crazy if it happened, though we've seen in many elections past that polls and what people do when they get in the booth are two different things.

Surely the Tories will hold Dumfries, Clydedales and Tweesdale? That's basically middle England on the borders.

I still think some SNP support will drop off on polling day, a lot of their core will probably forget to vote as well in a haze of heroin and buckfast. I think 40 seats.

Perhaps control is the wrong word. I just mean my life will not change whoever runs the country. It is hard to explain.

I would if I did.

You are bloody bonkers mate! leave the country for a time when a government that tries to reward hard workers is in power and then get back the day after we could end up with the most destructuve one we've ever had lol

lol Well, I'm probably not going to be staying for long, whoever wins. The world is a big place.

I am considering taking the Friday off so I can stay up!  Only I know we wont really know what happens until days afterwards.

Tricky knowing how to handle it, isn't it, Jon? Particularly as I'll have to be attending my daughter's birthday outing on the Saturday (missing the Southampton match as a result).

I reckon my strategy will be:

- Clear the desk/inbox by Thursday teatime

- Don't have a drink until at least 10pm, so as not to end up zombified or snoring on the sofa by 2am, when it's starting to get interesting

- Stay up all night (unless a Tory overall majority is pending; that would be too depressing) as there'll be important results until at least 5am & will have to see daughter off to school (any less than 4hrs sleep at a time just makes me feel worse)

- Friday morning: No work, go to bed for 3-4 hours

- Friday lunchtime: Get up in time for the late results from recounts and rural constituencies, which could be crucial in a close election (Con/LD marginals in SW; LD/SNP marginals in Scotland)

- Friday: early night and get ready for days, if not weeks, of chaos and manoeuvring over who's going to form the govt.

There could be some pointers from early results. Torbay always comes in early, and that might give clues about the Con/LD battle in the SW. Likewise, there are usually early results from central Scotland and Lancashire, which might give clues about just how disastrously Labour has done North of the border, and how northern Con/Lab marginals might be looking. If the result is anything like the polls, though, nothing will be remotely clear until the Friday.

Any idea where you might end up going next?

If you're in Leicester during your brief visit and fancy meeting for a pint, PM me!

I think back to Korea for one more year to hive away a little more money for the next step, Alf.

I'll send you a PM presently!

The world's a big place but leicsmac just can't stay away from Korea lol

Dat yellow fever strikes again

I know I've said this before Moosey, but my (nonkorean) better half would disagree about the 'yellow fever' thing.

Besides, making enough money to be comfortable and put some away for future settling elsewhere is easier than most other places.

If SNP won every seat then Scotland should be forced to become independant.

Do you think you'll spend your comfortable years in England?

Just read where IDS failed to show up for a public hustings in his own constiantcy where the sister of an ex-army server who died after his  benefits were stopped was making an appearance. All the other 6 candidates showed up. Also Esther McVey did not show up for a radio show that she was supposed to be on. And would you believe another MP failed to show up at a public meeting where the subject was welfare reforms.

Maybe they had more important business to attend to rather than meet the public and it is just a coincidence that they all missed meetings where they may have had  to answer a couple of awkward questions from the public. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was in the Mirror as we all know is a leftie paper so cannot be believed.

Enough of this nonsense I am off for a pint and watch City. COYB.

You'll have to savour that pre-match pint very slowly, Ken, starting at 2.39pm for an evening fixture.

You enjoy it, mate! You've earned it, whatever Moose or Matt might say!

I'll drop into the Kings again some time, but not tonight. Hope the poker and poetry are going well.

No. New Zealand is a possible shout, but I'm honestly not sure yet.

Incredibly beautiful place but not sure it would be right for you, I imagined it to be like what rural Britain was in the 50's.

If it wasn't on the end of the World I'd live there.

Is the Daily Mirror still going? Do they even stock it outside of Liverpool these days? Anyway people don't turn up for hustings all the times for various reasons, even more so high profile candidates in election time. Nothing really to write home about and I doubt they would have been advised on who was in the audience in advance.

Benefit's debate on BBC2 tomorrow Ken at 2pm. Ian Duncan Smith is turning up for this one, you should tune in.

Up the City!

Back on track just what is Ed Miliband doing? Just watched a little bit of the preview of this 'interview' and what on earth is he doing sitting there sucking upto Russell Brand? Can you even begin to imagine leaders like Blair, Churchill or Thatcher even entertaining the thought of being held to account by an idiot like this let alone crawling up his arse trying to get him to tweet his followers asking for their vote.

New poll today has the SNP on 55%    Tories now just 3% behind Labour in Scotland. Staggering.

It's not up yet on 'The Trews' but they just put a 90 minute preview on Sky News and it was Brand ranting about banks, corporations etc and Ed just sort of nodding like a dog with that Beaker face. Not sure I'll be watching the full lot, I suppose i'll have too.

It's on Youtubes front page. It's horrid. I can see why Miliband has done it, I can't blame him, he's taking an opportunity to reel in some extra votes, but it just makes you cringe (and I hate that word).

It was good to see him say that big businesses can be taxed, then immediately proceed to explain why you can't lol

Anywhere where there are no proper jobs! Keep the excuses coming.

lol  You're really going for it today Moosey, aren't you?

I've probably asked you this before, but how would you define 'proper job'?

I think it's a good option; much more relaxed than many places.

That said, rural east coast US (New Hampshire etc) is an option too, horrifying healthcare system aside.

The only counter I have for that is could you imagine the incumbent Prime Minister, that be Blair, Churchill or Thatcher doing an interview for Heat Magazine? https://www.youtube.com/user/heatworld/videos

Let's not pretend this is just one way. It's party leaders pandering to the lowest common denominator. It's the second digital election and if this is the way things are heading then god help us.

Kind of agree with you. Labour slightly gone off the boil at the wrong moment. Can't see it going down well that he is talking to Brand, why should Russell Brand get an audience with the future PM when he's only famous for being a cvnt and running a childish campaign telling people not to vote while selling his film and books? He's the textbook definition of a champagne socialist.

It'll just be Brand ranting about capitalism laden with unnecessary pseudo intellectual bollocks and Ed pretending to be sympathetic. Brand doesn't even ever offer a solution just teenage angst. Complete and utter plank. Makes Owen Jones look like the messiah.

I can't watch brand for that long.
