yorkie1999 Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 I pay with the hope that just every now and then we have a result like man u or derby last year. Saying that fans don't have any rights over the club or players just because they pay to watch, we are not really paying their wages any more in fact now we're in the premier league i bet they can play to any empty stadium, have no moaners, a synthesised atmosphere and still make more money than last year.
foxfanazer Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 You shouldn't expect to be entertained, no. It depends on factors like opposition set-up, weather conditions, match situation- all contribute to how entertaining the match is. I'm quite happy with the entertainment we've had in recent seasons. Scoring 6 twice, two 5-3 wins, a couple of 5-1 wins and several 4-0s and 4-1s. We had 17 home wins last season plus a 4-3 cup win over a Premier League side. You will get boring games and crap results but, in recent times, we've had entertaining matches at Filbert Way. I expect the team to try and play good football and take the initiative to the opposition. But entertainment is subjective. We've had 2-2 draws and 2-3 defeats more entertaining than 2-0 victories. Spot on
st albans fox Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 The Man U game was worth the price of my season ticket alone. was about to post exactly this
Nalis Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 Put it this way... Newcastle Leicester, which was probably about a 5/10 in terms of quality and entertainment, was my first game of the season, costing 81 quid for 3 tickets. Would I regret paying a tenner for a cinema ticket for a 5/10 movie? Yes. Do I regret paying 27 quid a ticket for Newcastle Leicester? Absolutely not.

Last year i went loads of away games with my son, and it was more than just the games it was more of an adventure and a laugh.

I have probably spent over £200 on away games this season and would never even think about regretting it, win or lose, its worth it.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 All you can expect from going to a game is for the players to give 100%, leave everything out on the pitch win, lose or draw, and it is right to expect that, we pay good money to pay them an obscene wage. I can't believe some fans booed on Saturday, the lads gave everything.
cjslcfc Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 If you go to a game expecting to be wholly entertained then you're going to end up disappointed more often than not. Sure, you would love to be entertained and to see a 5-3 win every time but after over 100 years of football you know there are just as many, if not more, "dull", low-scoring games. By buying a ticket it doesn't guarantee you entertainment. It also doesn't mean you deserve to be entertained. I suppose going to football and expecting entertainment is like going to the casino and expecting to win. For me, as in all sport, whether I'm a spectator or a player winning is the ultimate aim and the ultimate entertainment. Sometimes how you get there does matter but on the whole a victory feels much sweeter than a loss with a good performance.
Bamba's Babes Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 I go to games because I don't want to miss out, I don't want to cheat myself. Maybe I'm cheating myself by going to the games when I could watch on a stream. I like to be entertained. If I see us win 1-0, I take little immediate satisfaction from the result, that comes later on when I look at the league table.
Guest MattP Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 The Man U game was worth £500 so I'd say we're all still up on the deal at the minute.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 November 2014 Author Posted 5 November 2014 Will the match against Southampton, be enjoyed? Southampton fans may well be entertained, if they do a Sunderland on us
