lgfualol Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 I hope Algeria win for this. Will watch all the games just for Mahrez
Fatbloke Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Can anyone confirm when these 2 are off? I'm assuming both made the squad, wasn't sure about Schlupp as he missed out on the world cup and didn't play in all qualifiers. Monday.
MC Prussian Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Algeria have a friendly on the 10th Jan, same day as the villa game. Hopefully Mahrez will be able to play for us instead, but I'm not sure. He'll definitely miss Stoke on the 17th and Man Utd on the 31st. If Algeria get past the quarter finals he'll miss Crystal Palace on the 7th. If they get to the final he'll miss arsenal on the 10th. Jeff no doubt similar. Maximum they'll miss is five games. Algeria will be off for a week full of training and preparation, all players are required to report to the camp in early January. So, Mahrez will miss that game anyway.
Finn Claw II Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 I've read online that they might be available for the newcastle cup game then they would be off
Aus Fox Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 I would use the cup game to give other options a run anyway, Lawrence, albrighton Knockaert etc.
LAprice_ Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Maybe we might see De Laet play out wide like he did towards the end of the Hull game? Looks more likely than Albrighton getting game time!!
LCCFox96 Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Gives Knockaert and Albrighton a chance to get more minutes under their belts. Mahrez and Schlupp are big losses but we can sustain a high enough level of performance without them. We all know Knockaert can produce and Albrighton hasn't played premier league football all his career for nothing. It also gives Tom Lawrence a chance to appear on the bench and show what he can do too.
lcfcbobby Posted 9 January 2015 Author Posted 9 January 2015 Good luck to Mahrez, am gutted for Schlupp not being able to go due to injury and even if he comes back from injury competition guidelines state that he cant play until the end of the competition. Just means that the players that come in now have the chance to put in the performances to put in a claim for the position!! just like our central midfielders have had to do all season!!!
foxfanazer Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Who'd have ever thought we'd be calling Schlupp a big loss to the team. Done very well recently
Danno Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Ah right, my bad. Let's just hope Hamer doesn't convert to Islam and join Morocco!Don't think it works that way.
