Bettsj2 Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 NP was sacked, MON took over until the end of the season (dual role with ROI). Not looking to debate whether he would take job, leave ROI etc, just if that situation arose, would people be as bitter over the departure of NP.
Guest Col city fan Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 NP was sacked, MON took over until the end of the season (dual role with ROI). Let's not look back (I said the same thing about Heskey) let's look forward.
Guest MattP Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Yes very. MON appears past it as a manager now and this job is certainly not a part time roll.
Guest Bilo Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 MON would be a nostalgic appointment made with the heart, not the head. If it was any other manager who hadn't had a truly decent season in England for nine years, his name wouldn't even be mentioned.
l444ry Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 100% yes. Don't think it's being nostalgic or that he's past it. The Republic of Ireland are looking better every game. One bad season at Sunderland, the rest is pure success!
Guest MattP Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Didnt the Irish lose last game to that appalling Scottish side?
cjslcfc Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 No. Leave O'Neill's legacy as it is. He's past it, which is why he's gone on to international management. Very few managers come back from international management and have success. As Col says we need to look forwards and not backwards.
Bayfox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 no. if people think nfp is out is depth then why would you want a guy who quit villa cuz he didn't get his way. plus if he was that close to getting the job last time and didn't. do you actually think he his gonna come crawling back. wait actually his ego means he probably would if he thought he could use it to call all the shots.
lgfualol Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Then we still go down and we all hate Martin forever
hackneyfox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 no. if people think nfp is out is depth then why would you want a guy who quit villa cuz he didn't get his way. Some people, myself included, think that it's a sign of having some principles, I don't have a problem with Pullis walking out on CP either.
