The Doctor Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 He didn't set us up to win the first leg. It wasn't just one bad run that season there had been one earlier which everyone then forgot about. Including all football historians as well, because I'm looking at that season and bar decembers 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats there was nothing that could be considered an awful run of form that season other than the Peterborough collapse (and even 8 points from 6 games is stretching it to call it awful form).
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Col are you still standing by your prediction we'll still finish 17th? Unfortunately not. My hope and 100 pounds sterling effectively disappeared with the whimper that was Hull at home. I thought we couldn't continue to be as bad as we had been. I wasn't banking upon playing five defenders at home against Hull. Cest la vie.
Babylon Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Your getting boring now. At what point do you want pearson to go exactly? He spent 8 million on a striker and puts him on the bench. If sven did that there would be uproar Before you go flapping your big mouth about, perhaps you should attempt to read the question to which I replied. Whilst you're at it, perhaps you can read my posts from today. You know... just so you actually look like you have a clue what you're talking about next time.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Because we're a newly promoted team... will Burnley sack Dyche if they go down? You can't lump us in with other premier league teams like those mentioned who had already been established. Closest one would Be Palace of that list. I also don't think we've been awful a lot of the time. Not good enough, but not awful. If we'd been awful and getting spanked every week he'd be gone. You also said you'd keep him even if we got relegated at the start of the season... so I'm not sure why you are baffled. People change and times change Babs. The Nigel Pearson of last season doesn't equate to the current version. His team selections and tactics are baffling me. His demeanour off the field is baffling me. I thought we'd struggle but would end up just avoiding the drop. I DIDN'T for the life of me think we'd be as bad as we have been. I think we need a freshen up.
Babylon Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 That just sums up this season though doesn't, "should" of got more, "Could" of won. We aren't bottom on bad luck. I didn't say we were. Again I refer you to the question posed "why is he still here".
hackneyfox Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 As somebody else said 'we're always slightly worse than whoever we play'. We're not bottom because we are unlucky, it's because in the main he doesn't put out a team who will score more goals than his defence will concede.

I think we are talking about the season before last, starting with the away defeat in the FA cup 4th round replay at Huddersfield late jan and ending sometime in April.

I'm literally sick of this place and people projecting their own meanings on what people have written. No post by me mentioned luck or anything close, yet two replies saying "it's not about luck".

We are. With one awful run of form - Hackney claims there's more than just the disaster of Feb + March, there isn't, not looking at the results at any rate.

Babylon Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Somebody's hurting No I'm just bored to death of having to repeat myself over and over again as people are incapable of actually reading.
The Doctor Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 That's the season but there was a poor run prior to that, we had no Consistency and lurched from one run to another. When? Our league form prior to that was: WLLWLWWWWWDWLLDDWWLWDLLDWWWWW Where in there is the poor run - in the 29 games that saw us in 2nd and breathing down Cardiffs neck.

I thought we couldn't continue to be as bad as we had been. I wasn't banking upon playing five defenders at home against Hull. Cest la vie. Yeah Saturday was the day I lost hope as well - I didn't like the formation but I sort of understood it. The changes though after the sending off were inexcusable. That situation it should have been far more aggressive at home to a ten man side.

Babylon Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 I think we need a freshen up. Yes so I do after Saturday, but I can understand reasons for him still being here up to now.

Guest Col city fan Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Come on Col you are the king of reactionary drivel. I'm fairly sure you started a thread not long back calling for everyone to support Pearson and get behind the team, yet now are calling for his head. You also managed to avoid answering the substantive point of my response. QPR sacked their manager in almost identical timing to ours, and would you say they are better off for it now and have a better have of not only survival but of getting back up next season. I would suggest the answer is no. One thing I'm tending to notice ever more is the sarcasm and apparent hostility of the Pro Pearson brigade, fans of Pearson, Pearsonites...or whatever term is best. It's almost a 'you WILL listen to me because he's great', without giving much substance to back it up, except this firm assurance that he's the man to bounce us straight back up again if we go down. This put - down of any 'dissent' toward Nige has been there all season, but now seems to be increasing still further. It smacks, if truth be told, of almost desperation. A band of people wanting to convince us all and themselves that Nige is sooper whilst quietly probably thinking..."I got that a little wrong".
The Doctor Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Three lots of back to back losses... disgrace. Pearson out then, then back in again for last season, then out again now. Clearly that would have us as a champions league side now without him in charge. Just goes to show people are just making things up now to try and suit their own arguments. I don't know why people are looking to history for reasons for him to be sacked - there's plenty in the here and now

Ansteyfox Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Despite our very poor season, Nigel Pearson does know how to get us out of the Championship (which is where we will be next season). We may as well stick with him now rather than join the inevitable game of "Find The New up and coming Manager".
Soar Fox Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Ian holloway knows how to get a club out of this league lets reappoint him. What's Aidy Boothroyd upto these days he's got a club promoted and had a couple of playoff finishes lets get him in.

How exactly will you choose who is best suited to the job? Lets not make out it's not a valid argument for the bloke.
