Wilkesy Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Looks a bit weird / futuristic, but would be quality!
Master Fox Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 It's still a sh*t hole full of drugs and obesity. Nice stadium though.....
fox123 Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 That looks like something out of what they are achieving in Dubai!
The People's Hero Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Looks like it's going to have a big capacity. Who exactly is going to use it? Surely not Portsmouth?
FilboFox Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Can't say that i'm a big fan of that thing... I don't really understand what it's supposed to be around it as well. I can see the stadium inside but around it there's something else which I can only presume are board rooms. It really does look like something that is about to take off in Star Wars... What's the proposed name? Half a Margerine Box Stadium?
Wilkesy Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Also, what's the capacity? 36,000 Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...uth/6591049.stm
FilboFox Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Oh... not that big then. And all those rooms are appartments! Bet they cost a shit load to get...
Lord Nibblington Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 And I bet it ends up looking nothing like the plans.
Stevosevic Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 I still think they should of made our stadium two tiers but steeper terraces, would of made the place more intimidating and it would of been different to all the other bowls.
The People's Hero Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 And I bet it ends up looking nothing like the plans. It'll be like our stadium except blue and whi..... It'll be exactly like our stadium.
Lord Nibblington Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 It'll be like our stadium except blue and whi.....It'll be exactly like our stadium. Looking at the pictures again, am I the only person who can see the stadium sinking at some point?
Trumpet Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Looking at the pictures again, am I the only person who can see the stadium sinking at some point? Lets hope its built with lifeboats and perhaps a lighthouse!
mancunianfox Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 That looks very different to every other stadium in the country and for that reason it won't get built. Does anyone else thinks that it looks like a giant pebble?
Lord Nibblington Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Lets hope its built with lifeboats and perhaps a lighthouse! Perhaps they'll flood it, a la mythical flooding of the Colosseum, for certain events. Like the renacting of us going down there and beating them.
Brainy Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Looks very nice Funny to see them play there first game there in the Championship.
Webbo Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 that looks brilliant, does it say how much it will cost?
City Lad Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 that looks brilliant, does it say how much it will cost? £600million !!!!!
Daggers Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Looks like it's going to have a big capacity. Who exactly is going to use it?Surely not Portsmouth? Exactly - I was looking at it, thinking it looked sweet...and then thinking "over-ambitious or what". Pompey would never fill a stadium like that.
London_Fox Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 My housemate just walked by and asked if they thought about Global Warming...be under water before they finish building it. As for the price of apartments, it's all supply and demand. There still won't be any demand for housing in Portsmouth (certainly not inside the stadium complex when you lose the right to have a quiet weekend or sleep during midweek). Seems very ambitious and out of character for a club like Pompey to be honest.
