cc_star Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Why can't we string two results together? Are the players now losing confidence I was firmly in the Sousa Out camp and was pretty overjoyed that we'd been able to attract someone as experienced as Sven & Faz - I didn't for one second think we'd be able to get promoted this season, but I did think we'd progress from where we were after nine games, whether we have or not is debatable. I DON'T want Sven out, but I am having severe reservations as to whether he can cut it in this division He is a chequebook manager who has bought the success he has had - only he can't attract the players he wants as we're firmly stuck in the bottom half of the 2nd tier His loan signings, whilst they provided an initial lift have unsettled the existing squad and we're not doing well enough to keep everyone happy, Fryatt leaving & Berner stating he'll be looking for a new club prove this, you only have to wonder at what Morrison, Waghorn and a variety of other players must think and now he needs to call on them - how can he expect them to be pulling up trees for him. Morrison today thanks to yet another injury to Davies & Berner against ManCity thanks to Cunningham being unable to face his club. Why are we always shocking in the first half of games, this was just away from home but is now happening at home, is Sven unable to motivate the players to go out in the first half and do a good job for him? Why is he unable to sort out the defence, he is able to call on players who were one of the best defences in the country last year and he has added to it with 3 supposedly top class players of his own choosing - yet despite this Sven&Faz can't stop us conceding goals by the boat load - We've now conceded as many goals at the halfway point as we did in the whole of last season away from home Why is he sticking with 4-4-2 when our defence is so obviously struggling, surely its worth playing 4-5-1, especially for the first 45-70mins away from home Sven is starting to look just as clueless as Sousa, but for different reasons, and what are left with if he 'gets moved upstairs' or leaves the club for one reason or another a few young lads who'll return to their own clubs and a few old journeymen unwanted by their own clubs and a whole load of former 1st-teamers who have been displaced by the loan signings??? C'mon Sven... get the players motivated from the opening whistle, take a look at your formation (you can't keep doing exactly the same thing but expect different results), stop pissing off the whole existing squad by signing loan players who are proving themselves to be no better than was already here, and for FFS give Waghorn an extended chance, 5 mins at the end doesn't prove anything either way.
Salieri Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 This results has got "are we really improving under sven" written all over it! Was thinking the same thing. And the thread will be made BEFORE the final whistle has been blown. Right on cue.
cc_star Posted 28 December 2010 Author Posted 28 December 2010 Don't read the words then... just reply to what you think you've read
acooling08 Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Pretty good post. If we don't win in our next 3 then the owners will probably want Sven out.
lcfcsnow Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Anyone else concerned Sven comes out to do his interview less than 10 minutes after the games finished? Seems to have nothing to do with post match team talks, leaving it all to Fazackerley I'm guessing?
Swalker Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 I'd say that at half time when the manager needs to lay into the players Sven and Faz tell Chrissy P what to say and get him to do the half time teamtalks
Guest BlueBrett Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 I don't have a problem with Sven staying cool all the time. His job is to be the tactical mastermind not a bloody hype-man. Fazakerley and Chrissy P are the ones who should be pumping the lads up. once Sven has told them what he expects them to do.

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Sven will turn things round, give him the jan transfer window and a more "Svenlike" team in the 2nd half of season and we will all see what a good manager he is :sge:
Stevosevic Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 It's times like this when Leicester fans do my head in.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Come on the City lets put all this behind us, get behind the team and roar us on to victory against Hull City away
cc_star Posted 28 December 2010 Author Posted 28 December 2010 It's times like this when Leicester fans do my head in. Care to shy why?
Alpha Gifts & Awards Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Its disappointing when we lose, personally I'm trying to reduce my expectations. Top half and a proper promotion push next year, considering our start to the season would be a good achievement. Clearly Sven is having an impact, but things take time - I'm being more patient )! Keep the faith!
Captain... Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 One reason for our defensive problems is we have 2 fantastic footballers as full backs, but they are not great defenders. We have also changed our centre back pairing alot mainly through injuries. Changing keepers is not adding to the stability. We need a stable back line playing together, inlcuding keeper, until we can get a good relationship and stability at the back we will continue to ship goals. This will improve after Jan when we know our squad for the rest of the season after Jan.

Sven is NOT a motivator (just listen to his fookin press conferences) and just ask the Mancs - if Plan A dont work there is no Plan B
themotivator Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Sven is NOT a motivator (just listen to his fookin press conferences) and just ask the Mancs - if Plan A dont work there is no Plan B so our second half performances, which have been our saving grace this season were all plan A?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Come on City fans, walk in a Sven wonderland :sge: he has got to turns things around in January
colbo68 Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 so our second half performances, which have been our saving grace this season were all plan A? I think its clear to everyone that Plan B should have been Plan A? look at where we are in the table and the football we are playing... are you a happy City fan at the moment cos I'm not...
Babylon Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 whether we have or not is debatable. It's not debatable, we have end of story. Usual people coming out with the same old stuff, yawn.

Were you when not so many games ago we were top of the form tables over 10 games? Or is this just a recent thing after losing away in the Ipswich snow debacle, drawing at home to the team second in the league and losing away to Millwall?
