Sven, Sven, Sven

It seems as though motivation is not coming from the dressing room, where NP (or other managers of his type before I get shot down for mentioning him) could create a great togetherness and get the team up for almost every game last season, where as recently we have only performed in games where motivation comes naturally, for example against Derby, Forest and teams who are near the top. It is the games against mid-table teams like Millwall we need to win, and without the motivation we won't do this often, and as is obvious even more rarely away from home. Sven is not a man manager, he's a tactician who will over January and the summer build a squad of quality players, hopefully with natural leaders in the side, which at the minute we don't have enough of, if any.

Edit - Not enough leaders, not quality players.

Why can't we string two results together?

Are the players now losing confidence

I was firmly in the Sousa Out camp and was pretty overjoyed that we'd been able to attract someone as experienced as Sven & Faz - I didn't for one second think we'd be able to get promoted this season, but I did think we'd progress from where we were after nine games, whether we have or not is debatable.

I DON'T want Sven out, but I am having severe reservations as to whether he can cut it in this division

He is a chequebook manager who has bought the success he has had - only he can't attract the players he wants as we're firmly stuck in the bottom half of the 2nd tier

His loan signings, whilst they provided an initial lift have unsettled the existing squad and we're not doing well enough to keep everyone happy, Fryatt leaving & Berner stating he'll be looking for a new club prove this, you only have to wonder at what Morrison, Waghorn and a variety of other players must think and now he needs to call on them - how can he expect them to be pulling up trees for him. Morrison today thanks to yet another injury to Davies & Berner against ManCity thanks to Cunningham being unable to face his club.

  1. Why are we always shocking in the first half of games, this was just away from home but is now happening at home, is Sven unable to motivate the players to go out in the first half and do a good job for him?
  2. Why is he unable to sort out the defence, he is able to call on players who were one of the best defences in the country last year and he has added to it with 3 supposedly top class players of his own choosing - yet despite this Sven&Faz can't stop us conceding goals by the boat load - We've now conceded as many goals at the halfway point as we did in the whole of last season away from home
  3. Why is he sticking with 4-4-2 when our defence is so obviously struggling, surely its worth playing 4-5-1, especially for the first 45-70mins away from home

Sven is starting to look just as clueless as Sousa, but for different reasons, and what are left with if he 'gets moved upstairs' or leaves the club for one reason or another a few young lads who'll return to their own clubs and a few old journeymen unwanted by their own clubs and a whole load of former 1st-teamers who have been displaced by the loan signings???

C'mon Sven... get the players motivated from the opening whistle, take a look at your formation (you can't keep doing exactly the same thing but expect different results), stop pissing off the whole existing squad by signing loan players who are proving themselves to be no better than was already here, and for FFS give Waghorn an extended chance, 5 mins at the end doesn't prove anything either way.

GREAT POST.......

Were you when not so many games ago we were top of the form tables over 10 games? Or is this just a recent thing after losing away in the Ipswich snow debacle, drawing at home to the team second in the league and losing away to Millwall?

Come on Babs - you know quite well there's nearly always a feel good factor with a new manager and especially one given so much money we could trawl for Premiership leftovers.

And with a reported £12m more to spend in January I'm quite sure there'll be more feelgood to come but that doesn't negate the knock those Leicester City form-table stats would have taken from the Christmas crack-up.

Conveniently forget that Ipswich played in that snow effectively enough and it's three points lost whatever excuse you make.

Remember too that we twice beat what is an ordinary Leeds side convincingly this season, something that leaves the manner of our disappointing draw at home against them looking distinctly sub-standard.

As for today's performance you've only got to look at the player ratings and comments to see the truth of how badly we performed and how many chances we squandered once again.

Earlier today I jotted down a note of our regular failings on the pitch. I didn't see fit to post them but would say this. As a professional football club we're functioning about 70% below capacity. There really are that many things to put right. And the really sad thing is that I don't see anything being improved in a technical or operational sense, apart from fleetingly.

Past experience suggests you won't be concerned for a good while yet but I am. Not because I want Sven out. I don't because another upheaval would only make the situation worse. But because there's no need for such shortcomings. Most are quite easily put right.

Now we have strung back to back wins.

Anyone fo you math guys can show the table post Sousa.

Of coursee when there is a new manager he wants to have players that suits his tactics and of course all of them won't be good. It's particulary hard to asses the squad when you don't have a pre-season with them.

For Bednar I don't really think Sven was after him because they wanted Ishamel Miller. When Bednar was available instead they took a gamble on him that went wrong.

For the other signings either if it is loan or permanent, Davies, Cunningham, Vasssel and Naughton have been good for us. Noone a suuuper-hit but they have done their jobs.

Then you can argue if Berner is more stable then Cunningham and so on, but it is his choice.

I also think Sven have had to adapt to championship football and now he seems to have changed his mind from just trying to play good football to be more "dirty".

I guess one of the reasons he brought in Faz is because of his knoledge of the championship. Earlier he normally have brought in swedes as assistant manager.

Anyway, time will tell but what he came to wasnät an easy task, maybe unfit players, players with bad confidence, relgation battle, and no transfer window or pre season to asses his players.

As said before, anyone can dream of promotion but that's still just a dream, Next season is the season he sould build on, if he's not sacked before that.

Based on form since he took over, we would be 2nd on 45 points if we had have had Sven from the start of the season (if's and buts though).

My maths is probably wrong but i got 48.1, so we would have been joint first dependant on our Goal difference, which Qpr have +27 of.

Upon reading this thread I started to consider the possibility that perhaps some chaps we call 'fans' of our football club, exhibited here in this thread, are part of a cunning conspiracy in which the hierarchy of rival teams send grammatically incorrect, outstandingly annoying morons that probably enjoy the music of JLS and The Black Eyed (fvkin') Peas to convince the rest of our 'fans' to follow suit in their manufactured fickle views.

In the current contextual situation of the sheepish fvckin' culture we live in, it works all too well. People will latch on to opinions or other cultural forces (BEP/JLS in this example) for fear that they will fall behind to their peers. After all, musical talent is surely not the reason for appreciating such 'acts'! Christ on trike, have you heard the cocky little b*stards they refer to as 'musicians'? Of course, I am talking metaphorically. To translate, surely people cannot agree with these opinions through inner logical debate? Surely it's just through not knowing what else to think. So maybe men behind the scenes at our rival clubs are praying on this, our culture of following outlandishness and hipness in the hope that people with views such as the above will inevitably multiply as a result of cretinousness, resulting in an increasingly unsettled Walkers Stadium crowd, and an under-fire manager whom is the reason for our recent improvement in form. The replacement of our well contacted, experienced, proven master of the game would surely result in such an upheaval that our league position would plummet and our rivals would be the beneficiaries.

Then it dawned on me that actually there is no conspiracy at all. It turns out that the majority of our fans are just a little bit retarded and have no creative ideas or any idea how to accurately analyse a football match/season for themselves, and so attach themselves to the opinions of similarly retarded people. These be the chaps we find in this thread. They set themselves apart from the majority of other retarded people only through being the first to air their critical opinions first, thus being the leader of the retarded people. You have to hand it to them, though. At least they have some creativity in their criticisms; a lot more than what can be said for the following lyrics:

'I gotta feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night

That tonight's gonna be a good night

That tonight's gonna be a good, good night

A feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night

That tonight's gonna be a good night

That tonight's gonna be a good, good night

A feeling, woohoo, that tonight's gonna be a good night

That tonight's gonna be a good night

That tonight's gonna be a good, good night

A feeling, woohoo, that tonight's gonna be a good night

That tonight's gonna be a good night

That tonight's gonna be a good, good night'

The lyrics to the 'song' that they play at the final whistle, for the idiots to hum along to as they set home, with the Radio Leicester phone-in number already pre-dialled.

Happy new year. :trumpet:

We won.

Obviously, that's why Sheff Utd are 3rd bottom of the league!!!

We won't play sides like United every week & get away with the performance.

Played worse in the 2nd half then we did in the 1st so where was his influence at half-time that's my worry.

Like i said before, in Sven we trust!!!!!!!!!!!! :sge:

Second behind forest in past 20 games with 37 points, but forest have played two games less and are also on 37. If we didnt have a bad december we would be in the play offs by now, but tbh i dont care, because with the way we r playin atm surely its only a matter of time

Interesting on that stats thing that we have lost every game we have failed to score in under Sven!!! We are bottom of that stats league. On the flip side when you look at teams that have scored 1 or more in a game we are top of it!!! Good call getting the Yak methinks!
