Jamie Lardy N’Golo Canteen

I think we need to do better than rowett. He will just simply cement our place as a mid to lower end table championship team. Marti has made us all believe we are mid table fodder but on paper we should be competing at the top end. Just need a manager who can get the best out of the players, get them to put in effort whilst implementing forward thinking tactics.

If we don’t which looks very probable I think we will be stuck in the EFL for many seasons to come

Talksport for you

Need our strikers to start scoring at the moment we are too reliant on midfielders / wingers for our goals. Ayew not really the best out and out striker. We bought caranza and still have daka so another striker would be out of the question but definitely an area of our game the current strikers need to start to improve on. Against a deep defence we are limited to shots outside the box with there being no space to run into for our wingers and it’s not going to produce goals for us every game. Aaron Ramsey may still be a great bit of business in that number 10 role if he stays fit. James looks much better in the centre mid role where he can impact on the game at both ends of the pitch.

He’s done okay. Don’t get the typical foxestalk panic. Yeah his subs were questionable but no more questionable than any other manager we’ve had. the early goal against the run of play completely changed the game against a much more organised championship defence. West Brom went deep which naturally meant they were gonna have lots of space on the counter and some good chances. No different to how we beat Birmingham. Also meant our wingers had no space in behind and we heavily rely on wing play especially as we don’t really have a clinical striker. If they didn’t take that early goal I could of seen us beating them 0-2

Then we play Brentford at home and get battered after a shocking display from us.

On loan, yeah I’d take him. Just purely for his never say die attitude. He will run his socks off. Need that in a relegation fight.
-
I’ve not actually seen much of him tbh but from everything I read he seems like the real deal. My worry is regardless of who we sign I can’t see cooper having any style of play or tactics for these signings to be of much help.

We were linked to this guy before his move to Milan. Although he was an attacking midfielder then. Seems to now be a defensive mid and clearly isn’t working out for him.
-
I hope we still are in for Fabio caravalho and asprilla too if this one goes through
-
Jordan Veretout if I remember correctly. Can add Charles Aranguiz to that list too who chose Leverkusen over us and ended up being out for the whole season due to a serious injury in a pre season friendly. But hey we probably wouldn’t have ended up with Kante if we got one of those two.

Out of all the players we been linked with so far this is the one I want to happen the most! Anymore news on this?

Was this the guy at OH Leuven

Not sure which wilf we will get. The fact he’s open to moving just shows he feels that his time here has come to an end. He probably struggles to keep himself motivated at a club he has been at for so long and probably wants a change (providing he can bag a similar wage). It happens to us all in our jobs so I don’t see why this scenario is any different. When he wants to play he’s great. I feel like last season he did well because he had to keep his stock high with his contact coming to an end. It’s been like this for the past few seasons. Good performances before AFCON etc then when there’s nothing to play for or the going gets tough he goes missing or so happens to be injured. If we could guarantee a determined and enthusiastic wilf I’m all for him staying. I doubt we will see a full season of consistency. Let alone an entire contracts worth. no doubt he would be amazing if he played at another club. Just how it goes

I agree. but then again cooper just wants a job in the premier league still. Any team willing to keep him in employment in the premier league would do. Doesn’t sound much more inspiring does it
-
imagine how much depth maresca went into analysing each individual players game and how the team should play together. I just picture coopers analysis being so basic. Just defend lads then hoof the ball up and we might get one chance on the counter. Daka don’t mess it up you probably won’t get another chance . I’m being unfair I know. Just uninspired is all
-
Winks will be useless to us now. We won’t even have the ball for him to be effective
-
And to add to that at least he kept Brighton up whilst trying to play possession based positive football. They failed to score goals but I put that down to having Neil maupay as their best option upfront.
-
Cooper is completely the opposite of what the clubs vision on how they wanted to play was. Shambles Edit: actually I remember cooper stating he wanted to play more attacking football at forest but didn’t have the players to do so. Basically got battered and then realised they had to play defensively. Hardly inspiring
