I think England fans are disliked now as much because of English media as any memories of the bad old hooligan days. People obviously speak English and watch our media so they are familiar with the kind of discourse that goes on - the constant refrain of "wouldn't get in the England team" about half the squad of a country who then shit all over us, the questions like "what can you do Kasper to stop it coming home?", the belittling of other countries. Obviously this isn't really the fans fault but there is a general feeling that the English see themselves as the centre of the football world around which everything else revolves. We are basically the "this means more" Liverpool of the international scene.
