I was thinking it'd be a good way to get other people to pay for it.

This would make a good honeymoon. I need to propose.

Travelling by train round the Mediterranean for a month with my girlfriend. Get the train from London to Biarritz via Paris, then on to the Basque country. Through Catalonia and Occitania to the Cote d'Azur. Then via Genoa and Rome to Naples. Across Italy to Puglia, boat to Greece. Round the Peloponnese and through Northern Greece to Istanbul, where we fly back.

Also "Who is Suella Braverman?" seems a bit late. It's like people googling "what's the EU?" the morning after the referendum.

I was tempted to post "most of them are from outside of the UK so better educated".
-
Most of the dogs I see are around central London. They're usually smaller and calmer, I guess because the owners live in the city. And without wishing to offend anyone those people are probably better educated and responsible than your average UK citizen. When I go out in the sticks I see people with larger and more belligerent-looking dogs. They often reflect the owner. Those I don't like so much.

Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part but I think the Tory collapse in the polls has much more to do with the state of the country than how palatable the cabinet is. They'd done ok previously because the working classes were more effected by the problems but now when people are even worried whether they'll be able to use A&E if they need to, I doubt Cameron will make a huge difference. Perhaps it's underestimated just how much "the country is ****ed" has become part of people's thinking even in more affluent areas in the south.

I'll be honest - and with all due respect to your opinion - I can't understand people who dislike dogs. Beautiful, loyal creatures.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you and your brother are doing ok. My thoughts are with all your family.

I think people are playing down some of the extremely disturbing examples of antisemitism that have been recorded not just in recent weeks but also over the last couple of years. We should probably believe Jews when many of them say they feel unsafe now in London.

Also 'HMS Piss the League', spaff jizz job done, discussing which players will be good enough for the PL. We have angered the football gods.
-
The football gods are real and they didn't like the 'would you be happy with second?' thread.

each to their own but will never wear a red LCFC kit

On their main ticket page, there's a link to the sale dates.
-
Looking at sale dates on the WBA website, looks like home tickets are not going on general sale. Wondering whether to get the 20 quid membership as I am in Birmingham that weekend anyway and really wanted to tick this off my list. So still looking for a spare away...

Watching Copenhagen last night I wondered if the club ever released a DVD of our CL run in 2016/17? If not why not.

Glorious. Just glorious

Italy is weird because most people you meet are genuinely into football, they have a couple of sports papers that are mostly football, numerous programmes dedicated to analysing and discussing football. But crap attendances. And even when a game is on in a bar you rarely get a big crowd watching it.

I was also thinking about Vardy corner. I want to be in one of the classic photos, sitting next to a a woman with six chins mouthing the c word and sticking two fingers up.
-
Same here. Closed a few of my social media accounts. Using mostly Flickr at the moment as I love both doing photography and looking at other people's photos. It's calming. The rolling news online is extremely unhelpful. People were not meant to carry round a little device in their pocket that beams horror after horror into their lives 24/7. Very disturbed by things recently and I'm not surprised other people feel the same way.

Impressive that Rodgers has got me cheering on Lazio and Atletico, of all clubs.
-
Nice. Generally would quite like Ipswich to go up. Well supported club from a one-team county. Proper old stadium, good young manager. And not Leeds.
-
Would be interesting to see some evidence for this. I've heard it a lot - people voted for Trump and Brexit because of liberal elites telling belittling them, but I've always felt it's one of those things that doesn't really stand up to scrutiny.

But also fundamentally because the game is stop-start. It all stems from that. Doesn't work in soccer. For a start you can't check everything (corner, free kick) that can determine the outcome of a game
