  1. This was it. That period was great fun, such exciting, fearless football. And it started with the guys on the touchline who seemed to just love being there. As you said it infected the players and the fans. There was a great symbiosis between players, staff and supporters.
  2. RIP to a true legend of the game. Superb player in his time, many Forest fans would say the best ever for their club. Integral part of a truly great era at Leicester. 96-2000 was enormous fun, and I am left with the mental image of him vigorously celebrating a late winning goal alongside a leaping Martin O'Neill.
  3. Merry Christmas foxestalkers!
  4. Some real dedication on display here. I'm two hours ahead and still too tired and hungover to start opening presents.
  5. It's obvious to anyone paying attention that the American far right have long been quite anti Britain, both its current form but also historically as a country that helped develop and spread liberalism around the world. British right wingers with their very cute belief in the 'Anglosphere' are the last ones to work it out, as usual.
  6. Ok you've convinced me
  7. Well yeah if you put it like that...
  8. Does anyone really care about the Epstein files? All seems a little frivolous.
  9. Honestly don't know enough about it to say. But still of all the things to be nostalgic about old football, I don't think cramped, death trap stadia is one of them.
  10. Very nice and very obscure beer from the Bulgarian stretch of the Danube. Like a strong central European pilsner. Also has that classic central / eastern European style of label which appeals to me more than some stupid cartoon of a talking dog or something that small East euro craft breweries go in for. I want it to be named after a dusty Balkan town and have a 19th century date and a ****ing shield on the front, God damnit.
  11. Around the time 66 people were crushed to death going to a game in Glasgow
  12. Feel like Chargers have an underrated chance at a run under Harbaugh. Think as it stands they'd be away at Pittsburgh in the first round which is eminently winnable, then possibly at Denver who they've already beaten or New England, both of whom feel like they could underwhelm in the playoffs.
  13. I was the same at 31. Then suddenly at 37 it was like a switch flicked and I and suddenly decided I needed to settle down and have a kid. So I developed a wacky theory that the age of your mum when you're conceived is when you suddenly get the urge to start your own family, which I'm sticking to despite loads of anecdotal evidence to the contrary.
  14. @Chris_OGrady I've been informed the leopard, the kings head and the plasterers arms are all very good, and all close to each other.
  15. Norwich is one of the places in Norfolk I know the least. I'd add the Adam and Eve for historic value but haven't been there for years. I've heard good things about the White Lion. No idea about places to eat unfortunately. If you're in Norfolk you need to do church art and architecture, we have some of the best in Europe. The cathedral obviously but also St Peter Mancroft has some of the best of the medieval Norwich School of stained glass. St Peter Hungate also has great stained glass. The area north and south of Norwich has possibly the highest concentration of complete medieval churches in the world. In May it'll be lovely.
  16. He's awful but I don't think I've sympathised with a crap manager more than I do now.
  17. To think yesterday I bought a half season international pass to watch this shit. A little pre Christmas treat.
  18. Struggling to remember a worse half. Bolton 2001? Villa 2004?
  19. I am so confused by this statement
  20. There are very few players more talented than him that have played in England.
  21. Agree, but it is disgusting though
