  1. Every post match thread should have a summary of the game using the lyrics of a Carole King song
  2. I'll be honest I really enjoyed the winner just because it was so unexpected. Will take any moments of excitement right now
  3. If he can play for Juventus I should be able to get a game in league 1 at least.
  4. Ahhh I still love Fats. What a guy.
  5. I'm so bored and disillusioned by it all I got the wrong thread
  6. Mav is comically bad sometimes
  7. We're so lackadaisical
  8. Good finish to be fair
  9. I think I have a pretty good knowledge of the history of fascism and MAGAism shares many characteristics. Some MAGAists are quite open about it, I feel like they'd be disappointed you undersell them.
  10. I think basically the American right, like Americans in general, are very very online and have totally internalized the belief that America is mocked and disrespected by the rest of the world, especially smug free healthcare obsessed Euros who need to be put back in their box. Unfortunately these people are now in charge and dictating foreign policy. Fun times!
  11. Went for arsenal because 6 points on 04/01 is a very nice cushion, but if anyone can bottle it it's them.
  12. The locals aren't so happy though...
  13. It's very important that British politicians are diplomatic to avoid upsetting a foreign government that describes the UK as a communist Islamist state that imprisons people for criticising the regime.
  14. Voting them out isn't enough, I want cultural revolution style public shaming
  15. Fair enough. And you're right, it's boring. But there is a lot of projection and deflection I see from 2019 Boris Johnson voters which I think deserves to be called out.
  16. Going to go out on a limb and guess you voted for the government that increased immigration from "third world countries" to record levels.
  17. Remote working at the moment, though not much. A bit of teaching and editing. To be honest we moved back here just because we had a baby and my girlfriend owns a place. Might stay might not. Very very calm after eight years in London but the cost of living is quite high now and it's not an especially thrilling city. If you do Eastern Europe for a bit maybe somewhere non EU would be better like Tbilisi or maybe even Pristina. Nowhere in East Europe is cheap and easy any more though.
  18. Come join us in Sofia. Nice laid back city and a growing community of, ahem, 'expats'. Good base to explore the Balkans. I'd say attractive women as well but I don't want to sound like a sleazy Brit and my girlfriend occasionally browses this forum.
  19. He's a confused boomer and appeals to other confused boomers
  20. No, more war!
  21. O'Neill was great at taking pressure off the players. Pearson did too in a slightly more unorthodox way. Obviously Ranieri got it down to a fine art in 2016.
  22. I had the same feeling with O'Neill. In a one off game I wouldn't pick anyone else - I don't think anyone ever got team selection wrong less than him. But very different managers in very different eras for the club.
  23. To be the greatest you should really have done it at the highest level. I'm not saying NP couldn't have done it he'd stayed, but he didn't. Having said that the great escape was probably my favourite two months supporting the club and this MON vs NP debate is quite tedious.
  24. Should do a poll broken down by age. We all wish we were teenagers again...
