  1. Feel like he's a little bit underappreciated by some of our fans. Looked really promising when he first came through in 2023 and it's difficult to evaluate a player over the last twelve months when you consider how dysfunctional we've been. As others point out he seems like a good character as well.
  2. To be an 'American' is a proposition more than an ethnicity, and I think there has been an attempt to recreate that in Britain in recent decades.
  3. It's interesting how flag dynamics have shifted over time. Look at England crowds up to the early 90s and it's mostly Union Jacks. It was that flag I think that was more associated with the far right, unionism and racism, especially anti-Irish racism. Englishness and the St George's cross was a bit more whimsical, nostalgic, vaguely Anglo-Catholic. Now the England flag seems to be used more by the far right and the Union Jack is seen as more inclusive, which I suppose is a reflection of the slow unravelling of the UK post Thatcher and privatization, but also the reinvention of Britishness as inclusive and multi cultural along the lines of the USA.
  4. Young lads a couple of years ago on the train from King's Lynn to Downham without a ticket, talking about how they were trying not to get caught by "the feds" (Great Northern ticket inspectors).
  5. Did it take you back to balmy late spring days, Wout Faes scoring a towering header as we were relegated to the Championship
  6. The social contract is totally broken in this country and anybody even implying that mass distrust towards the state is anything other than a perfectly natural and organic response is an ostrich
  7. Well I sure as shit resent taxes to successive governments who have deliberately made me poorer so Nigel Farage Hot Pics weirdos in the shires will vote for them.
  8. You are right but trust in the state is at an all time low though. For me Brits are starting to resemble Southern or Eastern Europeans more than North Western Europeans in that there is no real belief that any political party is going to fix the problems and by extension there is no belief that our taxes are going to be spent wisely.
  9. Yes but would possibly give it back after a week
  10. Like TJB Fox he lives in my head rent free. Want him to fail so badly, that's how mature I am.
  11. Couldn't happen to a nicer club.
  12. More like Manchester United
  13. Just what is it about this guy that is so irritating. We've had some twats before but he winds me up probably more than any other.
  14. Didn't Matt P also once claim he woke up on a plane touching down in Las Vegas and had no idea how he got there? Or am I mixing him up with another poster or another Leicester message board.
  15. When I think of donkey work I think of Okazaki. Perez was a tidy enough footballer and put it what I expect as the bare minimum of effort.
  16. I'd argue the total opposite. Decent enough player but did almost nothing. One of our most unproductive players ever.
  17. Got to be when Matt P claimed he had never knowingly eaten a vegetable.
  18. That was less daft and more slightly disturbing
  19. Literally never seen a GK move for shots like Ward does. Totally bizarre.
  20. Bit of a King John vibe. Idiot son surrounding himself with yes men, loses half the kingdom.
  21. Monopoli is a lovely town and I was surprised how popular the team is there and how they've improved. Thrashed Foggia away last year who I always had down as a pretty big club in the region.
  22. Just imagining some of our fans piling out of the Fox Travel coach that has broken down somewhere in eastern Anatolia.
  23. Arda Kardzhali, managed by Tunchev, qualified for the next round of the Conference League. Would be an interesting away trip for sure.
  24. Yeah it'd be great to uninvent it (apart from foxestalk of course). I do think though it is more corrosive in a country like England with its very individualistic culture and declining wealth.
