This is some elaborate prank isn't it

Digestives. Dalmatinska panceta my local Balkan shop sells. Waitrose tiramisu.

I remember when people were arguing re Jimmy Carr that making a joke about antivaxers was as bad as making a joke about the holocaust being good. That was a pretty wild few days.

I think what we're seeing in England is like a cruder, uglier version of what has happened north of the border. Britishness has been weakened due to many factors, not least privatisation, and so there's been a reemergence of national identity in the constituent countries. Reminds me of what happened in Yugoslavia with the English as the Serbs obviously, simultaneously promoting their own aggressive form of national identity but also anxious about losing their influence over the other nations.

Think you're thinking of scouse fox

I feel like TPH walks amongst us. Couple of posters where I've thought the, ahem, humour is quite similar

34.3, which would qualify as the largest structure in Leicestershire.

That would really bolster the squad to be honest, get on it Rudkin

Unpopular opinion by the looks of it but I am a little sorry he's going. Local lad who showed a lot of promise and seems like a good character. Like, really a good character, not a Conor Coady "good guy to have in the dressing room" type. But, 12 million quid....

he's a wizard on the pitch

Yeah she's awful. These people seem to forget they are on TV, splashed all over social media, and their behaviour is now forever preserved on the screen. Quite liked the first one, but I wonder if the producers decided it was too difficult because since then it's basically deteriorated into 'win a stupid game and we'll show you a really obvious clue for where it is'.

This is true. I wonder if it's the disparity in exposure between the big clubs and smaller clubs now that is more depressing than the difference in actual on field success. 5-6 massive global brands in the league now and a bunch of also rans that basically seem to exist as extras in the multi million dollar production that is the English premier league. From time to time one of those will get their own storylines (like us in 2015/16, or arguably Luton a couple of years ago) but they are still expected take their place in the background soon after.

Reflects a shift in culture in general from the regional or national to the global, which we as part of the Anglosphere are much more susceptible to.

If only I could unsubscribe from the dreams of mine that he haunts. I wake up in a cold sweat at 3am, scouse voice recounting a story about Leander Dendoncker getting drunk on a preseason tour ringing in my ears

Britain will retain the beliefs and practices we've picked up from the states long after the US empire has collapsed. Like the Romans learning from the Greeks and the Greeks continuing as Rome after the metropole was overrun by barbarians.

God the algorithms seem to have found me and I'm now getting Conor Coady content on Facebook.

Destination X is a bit stupid isn't it. Thought it'd be about guessing locations in Europe but it's just a bunch of unpleasant, quite dim people doing 'challenges' that increasingly have nothing to do with geography. Most of the clues are either really easy or seemingly wrong, like the one about Dalmatia last night.

That's a shame, we need some comedy moments to lighten the mood

Happy birthday Nige. What times you gave us.

Feel like he's a little bit underappreciated by some of our fans. Looked really promising when he first came through in 2023 and it's difficult to evaluate a player over the last twelve months when you consider how dysfunctional we've been. As others point out he seems like a good character as well.
