  3. Europeans still surprisingly have quite a high opinion of the UK especially with what's happening in America and Russia. And it would look good for them if we came crawling back. The EU probably wouldn't risk it though with europhobes still doing well in the polls here and other states waiting a while for their accession.
  4. Never been so nervous scrolling through a thread...
  5. I remember in 2008 I thought we would probably flip between division 2 and 3 for a while, much like Charlton have done.
  6. What with Pearson and the boys being at the game yesterday and now Badenoch warning about Bulgarians and Romanians again, I'm getting all nostalgic for the mid 2010s. Those salad days!
  7. Very English that we give up our freedom of movement and billions worth of trade and people are discussing queues.

  9. Played during the reign of 3 Popes, 3 US presidents, 6 UK prime ministers.
  10. Vaguely remember Waghorn and Vardy linking up really well in the first half of one of our yearly thrashings of Derby. They can't have played together more than a handful of times.
  11. It's appropriate for youtube edits of early 2010s indie rom coms staring Zooey Deschanel, not Jamie Vardy shithousery
  12. Relegation and UCL places also very tight. Venezia vs Juve next week will be very interesting.
  13. drama unfolding in Italy
  14. Nit-picking but acoustic sad girl indie is not appropriate for a Jamie Vardy compilation. Jungle would be better.
  15. The quote above shows he didn't support any kind of Norway arrangement, although his EU policy was totally incoherent at the best of times. I don't think he really understood it any better than Johnson did. He was a Europhobe like his mentor Tony Benn. I am sure they didn't like the fact that Eastern Europeans rejected communism and embraced the EU, and that their living standards rose massively as a result. If he wants to talk about the "importation" of migrants "destroying" conditions for British workers fine, but it suggests after his recent comments on the "language of Enoch Powell" in parliament that he isn't quite as honest and principled as the followers of his cult like to think he is. Either that or, more likely, he's not very bright. Would agree though that he was a better choice in 2019, though of course we were not obliged to vote for either and millions of people didn't.
  16. Corbyn - we need to leave the Single Market to stop businesses "importing" EU migrants https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/2017/07/jeremy-corbyn-wholesale-eu-immigration-has-destroyed-conditions-british Deeply stupid man
  17. Because it's not an English football tradition, though neither is "GOAT" obviously. If it's a number like 25 you can get away with it, but not #9.
  18. Though I still haven't forgiven him for giving away that penalty against Boro in January 2013
  19. Will be an iconic photo of him holding the corner flag, like some Roman general announcing the defeat of Carthage at Zama
  20. Incredible. What a privilege to have seen him play for our club.
  21. I can understand that too. But I was really into football history growing up and it always bugged me we hadn't won the league or cup, especially the cup. Now our name's on the trophy I'm quite chilled about others doing it even as we decline. Never having done it is the worst thing iny opinion.
  22. There is little interest in this region in GB I guess. Our foreign secretary complimented Azerbaijan on "liberating" territory they have ethnically cleansed of Armenians.
  23. Azerbaijan ethnically cleanses Armenian majority areas with Israeli weapons
  24. I have to admit I was a little bitter when Wigan won their first in 2012 because we still hadn't done it. But now we've won the league and cup, the more the merrier.
