Ello everyone. Not signed into FoxesTalk for a while so I hope that you don't mind me dropping in. I run a small ska, punk and reggae festival, and we're starting to branch out into doing one-off events. Our second one, we have booked The Planet Smashers, Stop The Presses and have a melodic punk band called Shackleford opening up. It's on Thursday, 28th March (Friday is the band holiday). Tickets are online for £16.50 from here: https://buytickets.at/halfdrunkclub1/1128489. The "festival" is normally on the 3rd weekend in October. Over the years we've had [spunge], Big D and the Kids Table, Catbite, The JB Conspiracy, Captain Accident and the Disasters, Popes of Chillitown, Buster Shuffle and loads more. Usually 15-20 bands per weekend and it's a really awesome community of people. Anyway, if this sort of music is your thing, and you're free Thursday 28th March—would love you to come down and watch the bands we have on. If you can't make it—but might be interested in other things we're doing, go sign up to the mailing list so I can pester you there instead: http://eepurl.com/hF9O9z. Matt

Under Claude Puel, nine players have been sent off in 33 matches

Lack luster transfer window (and no big name signings)
MattyFromLE replied to Evington Fosse Fox's topic in Transfer Talk
Christ. End of last season, what did we need? CB, RB, CAM, GK (at a minimum) and a "replacement" for Riyad. We have covered all of those bases except from Riyad. In which, we're never ever ever going to replace him. Ever. Those saying: "We need a big name signing!!!!" - we're Leicester City. "Big name" signings don't work for us. Akinbiyi - big money. Beckford - biggish name at the time. Slimani - big money, highly rated. We've had a productive window. And who says we're done? -
Get it done. He wants out, it somewhat halted us in January. Sell him, move on.

3 things you'd like to see incorporated in an expanded stadium
MattyFromLE replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
1. An LCFC crest on the concourse/track in front of the tunnel when the players walk out, sort of like Man City''s ground. 2. As many have said, more shoutouts to pre-takeover history. (strange this seems like an issue given the pre-match build up video(s)). 3. Not structural, or about the actual stadium. But a few mates of mine really struggle for tickets. The membership scheme sounds over complex and loads of people I know often just don't bother. So maybe that needs to be addressed? -
We're on course to better/equal our highest finish in the Premier League (ignoring the title win, obviously) - personally I feel Puel is the right man to take us forward onto that next level. If we get recruitment right in the summer, then we'll have a great season.
-
Does this not say as much about the players as it does the manager? I think we need to be patient. I personally like Puel and think he's the man to take us forward however - we're not going to know if that is the case until early next season.
-
I personally don't really get this "we lack fight and attitude" - I don't think we do. I just think we're going about the game in a different way. We had so much more of the ball last night than we probably ever have before vs Chelsea. I think it all boils down to the fact that we're maybe a few players short really. And I mean - let's not kid ourselves. 2 quarter finals, 8th (currently). I think at the start of the season most would have taken that. Cut out a few individual errors and add some attacking threat and I think we're a top 6 side. For me, Simpson isn't really a "bombing forward" type of right back. Chilwell gets forward well but - defensively is lacking somewhat. Morgan isn't getting any younger although for the most part I thought he was ok last night. Sign Dragovic/someone else and I think we're good. We can't play 4-4-****ing-2 for the rest of our lives. We can't play on the counter attack for the rest of our lives. We have to evolve. Personally I think Puel is the right man to do that.

vs Spurs and West Brom are both technically brilliant. Both goals he doesn't even look where the goal is, full concentration on the ball and doesn't smash them either - all about the contact.
-
Wes Morgan vs Seville. I nearly crushed my brother to death ?

Poor TV pundits with sh#te opinions
MattyFromLE replied to willie-bell-in-rothley's topic in Leicester City Forum
I don't really care to be honest. Obviously it's nice to be liked. But ultimately, they wrote us off 14/15. Created the greatest escape. Wrote us off 15/16, won the ****ing league. -
Another absolute banger from Kingy...
-
I think he lived off this for a while. City fans adored him after that. Until Barnsley away, when he told us all to "eff orf" after we told him to hurry up taking a corner in the last minute when we were 2 - 1 down!
-
That last one is brilliant. Surely he practices this in the mirror?
-
An absolute worldy from Kingy that.

Still hanging on to the last bit of optimism, this forum really sucks it out of you, hey?

Safe Standing - Support the Early Day motion
MattyFromLE replied to purpleronnie's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think you've sort of contradicted your point here mate. If she's fighting to deflect the blame away from the fans and terraces onto the police - why does that mean she has to be pro standing? She may well believe that the police were solely to blame, but she may also think that some of the blame lies with the thousands of fans who pushed their way into a standing area. I am fully in support of safe standing and would love our club to be a part of it - but name calling in this instance is a little distasteful, regardless of your opinions or what you think their opinions should be. -

Safe Standing - Support the Early Day motion
MattyFromLE replied to purpleronnie's topic in Leicester City Forum
Thank you for contacting me about safe standing in football stadia. As you know, the Government believes that the longstanding policy, which requires that stadia of football clubs in the top two divisions be all-seater, remains an important measure in maintaining safety at football grounds in England and Wales. For the Government to even consider a change to this there would have to be compelling evidence presented to it from all the relevant authorities, including the police, on spectator safety, as well as it being clear that this is something that all parties want. In light of these findings, it is the Minister for Sport?s belief that there is no appetite to change the current policy, following his meetings with the football authorities and clubs in the UK. I am aware, however, that the organisers of the ?Safe-Standing Roadshow? recently undertook a fact-finding trip to Germany, and that the Sports Grounds Safety Authority, the body responsible for overseeing football ground safety in England and Wales, has said they would be interested in seeing any video footage produced on that trip. Given the above, I will not be signing EDM 573. I do hope that I have answered your concerns and thank you again for contacting me on this subject. Yours sincerely, Andrew Bridgen MP Clueless. -
Ahahahaha - quality!

This forum's reactionary negativity is an absolute joke. COYB!

That's be quite something to see L1 stood up singing that!

After yesterday I'm right on board with this. Pearsons unearthed a few gems! Got a good feeling about this season.

Agree with this!
