  1. All over the place yet again. That's our season in a nutshell.
  2. And another clean sheet gone. It's been what... 21 games now? We're so mentally feeble.
  3. 2nd half syndrome. Deary me.
  4. Should've been 2-0. What a great play by Skipp, doing a winger.
  5. Wout Faes has this talent to instill confidence in his teammates, wherever he goes.
  6. Starting against Lorient in about 15 minutes. Can't wait.
  7. Thank you for your order. You will be glad to know that there are no shipping costs.
  8. Not pretty enough for my balcony. In all seriousness, I think that's a plant that needs more space, thus a proper garden.
  9. Took me a while to look it up – I had fargesia rufa, a garden bamboo variation. Just wouldn't grow much at all, sadly. I was told by the seller – a garden pro – it could withstand wind and was frost-resistant. I'm looking for something similar that can grow up to approximately three feet high, but not much in width.
  10. Pas du tout. Il est un symbole pour l'état dans lequel le club se trouve. He's been utterly erratic for us, and cost us many a point since he joined. His defending is laughable at times, he wants to be a David Luiz Mk. II so bad, but is constantly failing. I do hope Monaco decide to buy Wout, so you can take your business and cringe posts elsewhere.
  11. Likely to start at home vs. Lorient on Friday. Also remember: He COULD come back.
  12. Btw, how's James Justin doing at Leeds?
  13. First reactions on the AS Monaco forum: "I do hope he won't get injured too often." "Our defense ships goals left, right and center. Welcome Wout!" https://asm-supporters.fr/actualites/64819-wout-faes-leicester-deja-rouge-et-blanc
  14. I don't know about living in Monaco. Place is crammed. More likely getting an apartment in nearby France, Menton, for instance. Not sure whether he'll be a starter straightaway.. And the club could be out of the Champions League faster than you can say "Wout?". Looking forward to visiting the AS Monaco messageboard to see what their fans have to say.
  15. A little bit of a boost at the start of the week. Good luck at Monaco, Wout! Dress to impress!
  16. Any recommendations for a good, pretty and sturdy decorative plant for balconies, especially ones that are exposed to wind often? I tried it with bamboo. I thought it could work, but the plant is so thirsty. And it just wouldn't grow as much as I expected. Looking for a plant that offers me a bit of a screen, too.
  17. The Paris FC goalkeeper had a blinder of a night.
  18. The guitar solo is unreal. Dean Ween goes extra hard. But Dreiwitz on bass and Coleman on drums aren't shabby, either.
  19. Can't be stressed enough. Just thought about his output again after seeing that new Criterion Collection boxset. That's what – about ten times the same movie? I have much more respect for directors who dare to test their limits and are interested in different genres. Interestingly enough, his namesake P.T. Anderson is another moviemaker who has somewhat lost his mojo. The earlier films are exceptional (Hard Eight, Boogie Nights. Magnolia, There Will Be Blood – I'd even include Punch-Drunk Love in that list). Past ten years? Yuck.
  20. Well, at least it's winnable. Revenge for the 3-0 drubbing? It all depends on whether on not we can put a run of successful results together. This month's fixtures will define the remainder of the season.
  21. A Quiet Place in the Country. Big fan of Franco Nero and Vanessa Redgrave (back then, lovers – today, they are still married). Redgrave is praised in the extras as one of the nicest people around on a film set. Been delving into Italian giallo movies (essentially, erotic thrillers) lately, such as Torso or Deep Red.
  22. Are there others who are kind of disappointed in Wes Anderson? I love his earlier movies (up until Life Aquatic), but in recent years, his trademark style has become a bit stale for my liking. He relies too much on the same recipe these days. Asteroid City was probably the first Wes Anderson movie that made me fall asleep.
  23. What plan? Are you advocating for war(s)? Because that's the quickest way to massively reduce the population. Or we could make sure economic growth and/or prosperity can be "exported" to Third World countries, in order to dampen or prevent mass migration. And we should continue to talk about China, as they are the biggest polluters on this planet, with the US a distinct second. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/pollution-by-country India is not far behind, either.
  24. The "purge" is on. I said the things I had to say, let it simmer over the weekend. Only to find out today all my posts in the past few days (including the replies from others) have been deleted and I've been blocked. General News Thread has been rather one-sided in the past, and in the last few years sadly turned into one big circle-jerk. It's become just another Reddit thread. No wonder so many people with counter arguments have left the thread already, not the least since the pandemic. @Mike Oxlong Sorry to disappoint you, but my profile description doesn't refer to my political beliefs, I once shortened a geographical location. That's it. Congratulations for making a wrong assumption.
