33 players is ridiculous. Mid-season friendlies are the time to give players a look not right before the tournament. France have announced their 25. Why bother with busted flushes like Henderson only not to call them up when it matters.

Leicester really struggles for an old school boozer with a well-stocked beer selection. It's either modern (bland) and crafty, old school with a decent handpull effort but lacking other interesting beers or - run of the mill altogether. Swan and Rushes was the best example, Nottingham and Sheffield do this well.

Currently our long term CB options are Faes, Coady, Souttar and Nelson. Selling the middle two AND replacing them without spending more on fees and wages is too much of an ask. I rate him more than Coady. Our squad is thin enough already and we have to replace these players, we're not adept at getting multiple players in and out during the same window too. Enzo is going to have to lump it and use some of these players.

I went to see Happy Mondays at Rock City the other month, I've been on a bit of kick ever since. As an early zoomer they've always been this peripheral comic group as I've grown up but their stuff stands the test out of time. The club mix of Hallelujah is so good.

The media absolutely love him. Englands fans criticise him because he's taken a very good crop of players and turned them into perennial nearly men. I appreciate there's some luck to football but to twice lead very early in big games (Croatia and Italy) and contrive to lose both is bad management. With maybe the exception of France we have by far the best squad and he's had plenty of time. There's no excuses for him.

Southgate does sap my enthusiasm for England, it's like he walks into every trap. The idea we gave huge expectations as a nation is completely false, somehow his insipid performances are seen as a success.

Agreed, the decline in newspaper circulation probably contributes too. As a kid the wall charts and speculation got me up for it - particularly as you said, we knew far less about other nations' players.

It's crept up without much build up so far imo

KDH first emerged amongst the backdrop of Rodgers losing the plot, it was a dysfunctional team and he was arguably our best player in 21/22. He was always capable of better G+A numbers but Rodgers used him as dog first and foremost. He's had a slow starting career because we didn't get him out on loan fast enough. I'm a bit worried the same thing happens to Alves and Braybrooke.
