  1. Hmmm Forest haven’t been hit because of the loss threshold. They’ve failed to address FFP because they signed over 30 players and left it too late to address the over spend. That’s simply it for them. Pretty clear cut
  2. Whole area is full of Leicester. Made a joke to a solihull living colleague when we went on holiday to Cromer its full of Leicester. It took three hours of him being there wearing a Tigers jacket for someone to ask him where he was from in Leicester
  3. In a similar vein, if it’s not his job to do wages for example or have an input into transfers, then he isn’t a strong enough character to carry through what should be an agreed ethos throughout the club.
  4. Think it's too easy to look at FFP and its application towards the Premier League. Football has a food chain accepted. You've got the likes of Henry Winter citing its punishing ambition but it also protects the ambitions of clubs wanting to progress on a fair basis. So is it expected that Luton should have come up and start throwing cash around on wages? If there's not some form of financial control, it extends the gap from the PL to the Championship and has a knock-on to the cup competitions in their competiitveness. If you have no FFP, you risk the promoted clubs having to come up and effectively 'arms race' their way into contention. Think Finners makes really excellent points about ownership and sustainability. Forest fundamentally signing 32 players and hiking their wage bill is not sustainable. Luton sensibly investing whilst they look at getting themselves a new stadium is. Anyway, I will say until it's boring. I wouldn't get stressed about Everton. They are utterly ****ed with the finance deals with 777. It's just a case of time. Their fans really need to be pushing their energies there. It's a company what don't pay, can't pay, having to take 52.9% APR loans for liquid cash and in the process of busting three football clubs plus a basketball league.
  5. I think the largest issue to any change is the lack of money. Obvious answer is an Anglo Welsh league with two tiers but how do you get a new TV deal, give the Welsh regions a good finance incentive and sort out English club problems. Fundamentally the money isn’t there in the game to sort it. It was but everyone decided to piss it up the wall on wages.
  6. Slightly off topic but Youth Cup tonight Swindon are 2-0 up over Man United
  7. Interesting scenario in National North Tamworth are eight clear of SCunthorpe, albeit Scunny have a game in hand. In their next ten games, every team they play is in the top half!
  8. Still been employing some really smart people and can’t believe they’ve been sucked in
  9. https://josimarfootball.com/2024/01/15/endgame/ Everton and 777 is a time bomb
  10. With one of his mates now, Emery at Villa
  11. You can debate Jon’s correct position as a scapegoat or not but there are 3 major problem areas where there’s evidence he’s messed up. 1. The wage bill - quite evident that we’ve been overpaying players for their relevant quality 2. Turning down decent offers last summer in particular for the likes of Soumare. 3. The gate keeping of the academy towards his mates
  12. Ironic thing is I’ve seen more sense on this written by Forest supporting journos than anyone
  13. Hmmm not sure after Soyuncu’s performances at the end of the season including a horror show at Fulham
  14. Because they have an owner who is incredibly rash and silly. Not accepting a bid for sponsor either because he had a price he refused to budge from
  15. You are correct but they are already tied up in finance deals with them. And there's tons of evidence to suggest 777 don't have any if much liquid cash. You bust on those deals - you bust on the stadium. Ownership of that asset then gets murky.
  16. The more I read on 777 Partners, Everton are fcked regardless. Their owners has made a massive error. Couldn't pick have a worse potential investor.
  17. Bishop’s Stortford away for Coalville - winnable that
  18. Suspect the editing job for Ric may take some time.
  19. Hearing a lot of this stuff. Sell more players!
  20. I know people hate the xG discussions but when you consider Cov were facing 10 men. They won 1.38 to 1.15 on xG. Their first two goals were very low xG scorers - 0.09 and 0.03 - Godden's header was by far the most clear cut chance they created (0.26) and O'Hare's second goal (0.20). So when you consider those two chances contribute to 0.46 of their expected goals. Yeah it's one of them in retrospect.
  21. Wet Lettuce FC strikes again
  22. Not see a fanbase advocate injuries to players so much on social media. Proper brainless horrible dim ****ers. if we play them any time soon, it will be a proper nasty atmosphere at our place.
  23. Gone largely unsaid because of the result but the organisation around that stadium is ****ing terrible. Transport links dreadful, stewarding/policing dumb and parking woeful. Surely it makes sense to have a similar bus to/from the station or Nuneaton station like Stoke do for example?
  24. Their revenues are much higher and therefore their losses lower.
