I know because it’s the same thing he does at every club. I know because he’s done interviews staunchly defending his ideas, but is much quicker to criticise his players. I know because you and I both know he’s not going to change the style of football so again - why are you debating this like you think he will? Criticising the players is one thing if you as the manager are doing the right things, he isn’t and won’t.

Yes but saying it and actually doing it are different things. He’s just using the phrase - in reality he believes that the players are letting him down. That’s why he never changes.

Again with this ‘you have to give him a chance’. I don’t have to do anything. I didn’t hire him and I’m not in charge of the club’s finances. If the club would have listened to the fans we’d have been better off but they didn’t and now we have to wait and watch another nightmare unfold. I don’t care how many times I get called brain dead. We all know what’s going to happen, there is no benefit to pretending that it isn’t. The club does not save itself because you, the mighty funkyrobot of Foxes Talk, says it’s possible that Russell Martin can be a success so you’re going to give him a chance. It makes zero difference what you say so just be honest and say you don’t want him as manager. You’re supposed to be an adult with your own opinions.

Again, I keep hearing this, but no. If people didn’t want him in the first place (with a plethora of good arguments based on freely available evidence at previous clubs) then it would be extremely fickle and inconsistent to then say he should be given time and ‘a chance’. Nobody on this forum has any impact on this bloody manager. But if you didn’t want him, stand by it. The sooner he is sacked and replaced by someone competent the better. And I know that won’t happen, it’s a forum. I’m some random bloke on a football forum, I’m not taking responsibility for King Power’s bad decisions and changing my feelings as if me giving him a chance has any impact whatsoever. It’s not my fault Top has pissed money away on this guy, is it?

It’s completely rational. Anyone with a brain cell and a bit of honesty knows exactly what’s coming. If people want to lie to themselves because they think their performative faux positivity makes them a better person then apparently they’ve learned nothing over the years. I’d rather just say it how it is, and deep down every poster on here knows how it is.

Meanwhile at this point you’ll either be conspicuous by your absence on this forum or pretending you never said all the things you’ve said. I’ve seen it all before, I’d rather not see it again.

We’ve shown far too much patience towards the last 4 or 5 managers. I hope Martin resigns after a few weeks due to his overwhelming unpopularity. But he won’t, because he’s up himself.

It’s not reactionary. People already know Russell Martin. He’s not some unknown entity. It would be fickle for the people who hate him, and have said they don’t want anything to do with him, and have said even promotion won’t be enough to convince them he should stay on as manager in future seasons, to then say they are giving him a chance. He’s the wrong man until he proves he can entertain the fans and get us back into the Premier League. Why should he get the benefit of the doubt after years of both he and our club being insufferable and hateful?

Didn’t realise Fletcher was a Forest fan but that aside he’s a decent commentator. Good voice, injects drama into the big moments properly. Martin Tyler mumbled on like a self-centred cretin more than Fletcher but people forgave it because he had the same qualities. Matterface is about 100 levels below. He doesn’t have a commentators voice, he’s cringe, he’s fake in every single syllable, everything is a sound bite. The only ones who run him close are Peter Drury and the hateful Gary Weaver. Other commentators that don’t have commentators voices: Guy Mowbray Ian ‘nasal’ Crocker Jonathan Legard Dan O’Hagan Most female commentators (sorry) These people might be liked by their colleagues but someone should have told them they didn’t have the voice for commentary, because if you don’t have that everything else is irrelevant.

It doesn’t matter if their currency is ‘a bag of crap’. The idea that a right-wing government couldn’t or wouldn’t ever try to tip the balance with FIFA is absurd. If something has political value they will find a way. We can’t even rule out that they’ve approached specific referees, though more unlikely. Stuff like this has been done since the dawn of time, it annoys me that people still dismiss it. And Argentina themselves have previous for it. Also this is a distinct possibility.

It’s absolutely impossible for him to say if referees get approached by FIFA, what secret meetings happen etc. Impossible. It’s possible he’s just naive and one of the innocent ones, but protesting this much makes it sound like he’s lying. In the world of Darren Cann lawyers care about justice, politicians care about the public, everyone is honest all of the time and all referees are in it for the love of the game. I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again, the odds of football being the only industry in the world free of corruption are astronomical. He can’t seriously think we are this stupid?
